    $1000+ Pipes

I think that if what we buy makes us happy and keep us sane, then it's worth the money - no matter the cost. Cheaper in the long run than a miserable life and therapy.

    What are You Reading Now?

Moonbog, have you seen this: A Window Into The World Of Charles Bukowski - https://www.forbes.com/sites/nadjasayej/2020/08/06/a-window-into-the-world-of-charles-bukowski/#2653c84a4696

    What are You Reading Now?

Buk is a favorite. Not all of his stuff is gold. But when he nails it, it's perfection. I have a bluebird tattoo on my chest... homage to one of his poems. () The prize of my collection...

    $1000+ Pipes

I'm with you on this one. Timepieces are a weakness for me. But they also retain their value, if not increase. I bought a Submariner Roley in 1999 for about 3k. Wore it regularly and beat it up. Sold it in 2013 for 3600. I don't wear a watch daily anymore... but break them out for...

    What are You Reading Now?

Re-Reading Papa's The Sun Also Rises. Gawd I can't wait for it to end. Enjoyed him much more in my 20-30's. Now... Ugh. I'm beginning to understand why one of my literature professors said Hemingway was overrated.

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

    I won't lie. It's 1030 and i just made a trip to my kegerator.

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

I meant Black & Milds. Black and Tans was a Freudian slip.. and a more accurate depiction of where my mind usually is.

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

Sablebrush52... thank you for that. I tend to get focussed on the gnats ass... and your comment about not getting granular about it was spot on. You too, BROBS. Appreciate the follow-up. Like you, cellaring for the most part is to ensure I have plenty to smoke regardless of what may come...

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

Cellaring is new for me. Would just smoke and replace as needed. Finally entered a stage in my life where I can enjoy the hobby. Cheaper than wine, that's for sure. And no one in my family touches my stash. Couldn't say the same about the wine. :ROFLMAO:

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

Excellent point. Just thought about gifts, too. Makes more sense to keep 'em tinned. Thanks for that.

    Cellaring

must have been searching the forums incorrectly. just posted a similar question as in this thread... then came across this. Have you ever compared the two? unopened aged tin, versus same tobacco, but opened then jarred? Interested if there's a significant difference.

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

I've come across quite a bit of information. Difficult to filter through it all. Wondering if there's a difference in the quality of an aged, unopened tin versus the same tobacco untied and jarred equally? Thanks, dude.

    Tobacco Log Book

Thank you for this strand. Such a great idea. As an old-school Sailor (not as old-school as MSO489, mind you) logs are second nature. Can't believe I hadn't considered it until now. In the past, I've just given away anything I didn't like and forgot about it for the most part. Maybe a pen-and...

    Cellaring Tinned Tobacco

Is it more appropriate to leave tinned tobaccos sealed in their original packaging when putting them to cellar, or is it better to crack them open, to combine them in a larger jar? Has anyone experienced the difference either way? I'm organizing my 'cellar' and thought consolidating everting to...

    Aloha

for sure. much of it unrecognizable from the 70s-80s. it's not all bad, of course. but the traffic and the parking i can definitely do without. if you grew up there, i imagine our circles of separation are quite small. may i ask how old you are? you nailed it about mi casa. that's...

    Aloha

small world. we lived down off B street. I went to newport elementary - along with my wife. long, strange story - but we lived next door to each other as kids. But she's five years older than me, so was friends with my older sister and brother. never recognized each other when we 'met' 30...
