F off to the Excise tax

Part of me thinks it sucks but a much larger part is happy MI moved away from "report it yourself or we will catch you, maybe, and charge you thousands." Everyone in my pipe club knows of someone who got caught. Now I never bought tobacco in that time period, but I'm glad the temptation isn't...

Help finding more pictures of the first pipe owned by an Englishman

https://pipedia.org/wiki/Dunhill#/media/File%3AABOUT_SMOKE_4th_ed_p103.jpg Found the above reading about Dunhill on pipepedia. An old black and white photo of a pipe that Sir Walter Reigh owned, that was passed down to Alfred Dunhill and displayed in his shop. I would love to see more...

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

2nd bowl and A LOT changed. The buttery taste completely disapated after then first couple puffs and was replaced by an earthy taste that built and built down the bowl with an iron tinge. It completely took over for the virgina at the bottom of the bowl. The aftertaste of iron was strong by...

    Are Windcaps Over?

Nice things always cost money. I will be reaching out after I find the right pipe and have cash. Thank you very much for your reply.

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

I've never smoked ceramic. Unlike meerschaum it doesn't mute the flavors at all but did impart a buttery taste to the tobacco. This may go away with usage as this was my first smoke in it. The bowl has very thin walls and got rather hot, so I had to let it rest quickly. The chamber is...

Acrylic Stems vs Vulcanite Stems: A Comparison

If your getting a p-lip I'd strongly recommend a vulcanite. The acrylic one feels frigging horrible by comparison

Show Off Your Castello Pipes Here!

Next month I'm adding dunhill and gl peases telegraph hill to my tobacco order. I tried Bayou from them with the Arcadia perique and it didn't work for me, too much perique. Chelsea morning has the most perique I'd want in a blend. I found gawiths cabbie mixture too perique forward. Loved...

Hemp Twine for Lighting Your Pipe

I remember when this became a thing. All the hipsters my age where doing it. The old codgers at the smoke shop bought some and gave it to me with a good ribbing. The flicwic tells me not all of the hipsters went away :) We did our best, would be a shame if we succeeded.

    Are Windcaps Over?

I know! I got a christiano from pauls pipes with ones and have to polish the cap frequently! Totally fine with it. The top Barling in the first picture is exactly what I'm looking for. Jelous

    Are Windcaps Over?

Title edited for caps. Please see Rule 9 I really want a good quality pipe with a sterling silver wind cap, preferably domed. However it seems like there are none on the market anymore. Is this just a lull in the market or did they stop making them for the most part in 17 or so?

    Tea and a Pipe

I've found indigopunch from harney and sons mixes well with latakia mixtures. I like their queen Catherine one with others. My favorite is their orange passionfruit but it doesn't pair well.

My first Castello. A castello "castello" KK made most importantly in 2016 when my daughter was born. I haven't smoked it yet but once I find a virginia perique blend that works for me since Escudo changed their recipie and it bites my toung now, this pipe will be dedicated to it

***What Are You Smoking, October 2024?***

Penny farthing aged 2 years in a moonshine devil anse. Gonna get rid of my chacom raybert now, soooo much of a cooler smoke with a more comfortable bit despite it being acrylic vs vulcanite.

Macbarren navy flake in a general and my friend Justin having his first pipe ever, haddos delight aged 7 years. Trying to get him off the hookah, hopefully the owner of the smoke shop isn't too cross with me if I succeed.
