What's a Pipe That "Smokes Good"?

Not really. A better analogy would be someone saying, "I hope this basketball bounces good." It'll bounce just fine. Unless of course it's poorly manufactured, defective in some way (including being improperly filled), or the player just doesn't know how to bounce a ball.

What's a Pipe That "Smokes Good"?

Well, this is actually what I'm shooting for in this hobby, so good to know it's achievable. Too bad though that a developed palate can make a fine pipe taste shitty for months on end.

What's a Pipe That "Smokes Good"?

It's statements like this that prompted me to start this thread. Forgive me, but I have absolutely no idea what this means. Unless you've got some JimInks tasting skills, I can't imagine your tobacco will taste much different whether you're smoking it out of a clean pipe for the 3rd time or...

What's a Pipe That "Smokes Good"?

So, basically we're referring to draw? If the airway is too big or too tight, then it's not a good smoker? Is this something that commonly happens with new pipes? It just seems odd to me to see someone showing off their new Savinelli saying, "I can't wait to see how it smokes!" I just don't...

What's a Pipe That "Smokes Good"?

I often see posts from users showing off a new pipe saying, "Can't wait to see how it smokes!", or other users asking, "How's it smoke?" Assuming the pipe isn't defective (or if it's an estate pipe, assuming it's properly cleaned and restored), what is it that makes a pipe smoke good - or, what...
