    I generally agree with the original three from thomasmartin... however, packing light is definitely subjective. Personally, I pack until I feel just the right resistance on the draw.

    First Penzance Smoke

    I really liked Penzance the first time I tried it....maybe 15 years ago. That said, I recently tried GLP Quiet Nights and I was surprised at the similarity (and perhaps superiority) to Penzance. However, I have to add the caveat that its been a LONG time since I've had a bowl of Penzance.

    Yes, Husky, the meerschaum filters do indeed get brown and smelly like the charcoal do (I was using Futeng). I even broke one open after use and all the little meerschaum crumbs had absorbed the gunk. I use one filter per bowl and I don't have any issues. I suspect my new Rattrays Meer is not...
