    Salt and ̶a̶l̶c̶o̶h̶o̶l̶ benzine?

Benzine and benzene are both carcinogenic. Not work it for me to have around the house or use.

    Barber Shops.

I love my barber. He's 80 years old and been in the same space for 57 years! He's from West Virginia and is a great story teller. Pretty sure he is still working just to get away from his wife for some time each day. Ralph charges me $18 and also gives a mean shoulder and neck massage after...

    Local Haunts

In Iroquois County, Illinois, there is a country road where the legend of "Lantern Lane" is located. (This is Lantern Lane, a Haunted Backroad near Watseka, Illinois - https://ultimateunexplained.com/lantern-lane-watseka-illinois/) The legend, iirc, is based on a story, when a local farmer...

Insurance Question, Water and Sewage Lines

Sounds like you need to talk with your home insurance agent to determine what they cover and also, you should consult the city statues for what is the responsibility of the city when a like breaks or the like. It's different everywhere. For example, I am responsible for sewer lines all the way...

Club Sandwiches - A Brief Dissertation

Man, I cannot agree more on the lightly (or not at all) toasted bread preference. Toast, in my personal view, has such a strong flavor, it often overpowers everything else. Because many places don't get this, I often just ask for my club untoasted.

What Advice Would you Give a Young Man?

    Too Hot & Goes Out

There is little chance of us figuring out what is happening (or not happening). Just keep at it. One day you will be smoking, enjoying it all, and realize that you don't have to think about it anymore...

Shout Out to Iwan Ries For Great Service

Cannot agree more. Top notch folks. I used to walk there from my office in the Loop at lunchtime for a break and conversation. Never failed to come away with a little extra bacco to try and the sense that I was well taken care of.

    Is rosewood toxic?

Hopefully to provide clarity. Toxic typically means "poisonous." As far as I know, rosewood is not toxic. Some rosewoods produce allergens. Allergic reactions are not from being poisoned, they are a reaction of one's immune system to an allergen, a foreign material, like a foreign protein...

    Is rosewood toxic?

Rosewood is a generic reference to a Genus of trees. There are many, many types of rosewood and found all over the world. Some types, such as Cocobolo rosewood found in Central America can produce oils and such that can produce extreme allergic reactions. I do not know where exactly the...

    Chicago Pipe Show 2022

I can answer the first two: It's less than an hour north of O'Hare. A car is one good way to get there. Bicycle is doable (I have done it). Via horse is less easily done but possible via the park district trails. Or bring your own jet-pack. Well done CPCC! I can't wait!
