    Vincent Manil Reserve du Patron

As a French-Canadian by ancestry I tend to lean toward anything produced in the French diaspora and for me that includes Wallonia. The second I heard about this guy and read the NYT article, I ordered a brick of Le Petit Robin. Then one of Reserve du Patron. THEN La Brumeuse. These products are...

    LJ Peretti

Hey folks! I'm going to Boston in March (for the Seafood Show - anyone else going?) and planning my annual trip to LJ Peretti. Last year they had some Esoterica and I was strapped for cash when I popped in so i couldn't go too wild. I got a tin of Dunbar and a 2oz bag of D-7485. This year I...

What's the Appeal of a Churchwarden?

i really would like to see some research on the whole cooler smoke thing because i don't buy it for a second. do you think the smoke in your house's chimney would exit the top cooler if it had an extra row of bricks or two on it? I smoke fish a lot. like i've probably spent weeks of my life...

What's Your First Pipe Purchase of the New Year?

From what I've gathered via the Brigham page on FB it appears they are doing a few runs of "designer series" pipes that are carved by notable companies but incorporate the Brigham system into the stem work.

What's Your First Pipe Purchase of the New Year?

This was it for me. My local B&M is going out of business and selling all pipes 50% off. I received a $75 Visa gift card from my parents for Xmas. The stars aligned and i could finally justify buying this Brigham by Nording freehand.

    Canadian Pipe Shape Origins

lol you'd have to have one hell of a special piece of spruce to make a decent pipe.. that's some soft sappy wood.

    Canadian Pipe Shape Origins

Sorry if this has been repeated ad nauseam but I couldn't find anything about it. As a Canadian and also a lover of pipes in the Canadian shape, I'm curious if anyone knows why the shape was called that? Who started it? What is the origin of it? Was it the offshoot of a Lumberman? or vice...

    Loosely Packed Dutch(?) Tobacco Tin

Hey everyone, a while back I saw favourable report of an (I think?) Dutch-produced tobacco that one of the defining factors was that it is packed loosely and not dense into the tin. I think maaaaybe it was a va/bur? Does anyone know the tobacco of which I speak? EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title
