    What Pipe Is Your Favorite?

Savinellis seem to take the cake in terms of favorite brand. Interesting.

    Moving to Tallahassee

That's a wonderful thing. My favorite way to get into Nature. I will miss the Whites of New Hampshire most of all when I move.

    What Pipe Is Your Favorite?

Cosmic, is that the one in your avatar? Something about it has a sturdy personality.

    Moving to Tallahassee

I've twice tried to respond to Cosmic's comment about the Georgia mountains, and twice it's been eating by the alligators on this thread. Ravenous. I think I've changed my mind about Florida ;)

    What Pipe Is Your Favorite?

Embers, that Preben Holm is beautiful. I've always wanted a Nording Freehand, but when I see one I like it's either out of stock or just a little out of my price range at the time. I'm sorry, what are those "yachts"? Are those Zulu variants? Why haven't I seen them before? Those are very...

    What Pipe Is Your Favorite?

At first, I didn't think I would be the kind of person that favors a particular type of pipe. I seemed to be drawn to all types, even if my wallet couldn't handle it. For sure, I was gathering a collection of tobacco, because it seemed to me that would be the area in which my sensitivities would...

    Moving to Tallahassee

Hobbit, those are some good tips. I may just look into that. Thank you to you and Jndyer for the kind words. I am really looking forward to stepping up. Alan73, I'm not sure my girlfriend would appreciate that too much ;) haha. Thanks all for the responses.

    Moving to Tallahassee

Yeah, I interviewed there. I'll be working at Florida State University. We took a trip outside the city. I don't ever remember driving on a more flat, continuous road. Different for sure.

    Moving to Tallahassee

Lived in New England all my life. Recently, while pursuing my career, I've made the decision to move to Tallahassee, Florida. Looking for housing now. For the hell of it, I thought I might put this to the group: is anyone familiar with the area? Relatedly, what is your experience moving large...

Do Expensive Pipes Really Smoke Better?

I love, more than anything else related to this thread, that it has been repeatedly dredged up over seven years. Such a fun topic. It seems to me that pipes are like any other art piece; the work and skill put into them matter to a point, but after that the piece is worth whatever someone is...

What Books Are You Reading? (2018)

I don't read a whole lot of fiction anymore, but I did love "The Complete Sherlock Holmes, Vol. 1" earlier. Then I was reading "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins, on his rebuttal to the watchmaker theory in evolution. Now I'm reading "The Longevity Diet: New Science Behind Stem Cell...

    Canceled Netflix This Morning

Somehow, I just knew this was going to get commented on here today. Just had that feeling. If you cut out every organization who went against your beliefs at one point or another, you'd find yourself very isolated, indeed. It's virtually impossible. The world is not so cut and dry.

    Deep Cleaning and Polishing

How often/how many smokes before you deep clean? What is your "deep clean"? How about polish (briars, obviously? Differing procedures from everyone, I know, but I'm looking for the aggregate average of experience and reasoning. Thanks.

    Bow Tie Knot

When I was in high school, I always wore a casual button up shirt with a t-shirt underneath. I carried that into my undergrad years, but I evolved to wearing actual button-ups, but still with jeans. Halfway through my degree, I began to realize the importance of getting familiar with the...

    Removing the Tenon

Georged, what should I look for when inspecting? All but one of my pipes are in great condition, with no damage to the stem faces or stem. Maybe I'll have time to upload pictures later. One of them, however, I snapped the tenon when I was still learning how to smoke (removed the stem while hot)...

As a New Hampshire resident, really happy to see this. Thanks for the recommendation.
