    Smoking and Property Rights

Thought you all might enjoy this: http://mises.org/daily/481 Citizens in this great land were once able to enjoy a cigar or a cigarette at restaurants and bars. Over the years, however, most state governments have succumbed to anti-tobacco groups and have infringed upon the right of private...

    Peterson Christmas Series

It's already been released in England: http://www.cigar-connoisseur.co.uk/acatalog/Peterson_Tobacco.html So I wouldn't have thought it would be that long before it appears in the US

    Latakia

I just bought some Balkan mix from J.J. Fox's shop in St. James Square - it was out of a tub so I'm not entirely sure who blended it - and I have to say I really like the latakia tobacco in it: very tasty. Has anyone tried pure latakia?

    Heather Ale

The last pictures didn't come out. But this is a nice strong English ale (9%) from an 1899 recipe. Named after he brewery's cat.

    Heather Ale

Don't mind heather ale; I've had this a few times And it's pretty good. English ale breweries are the way to go if you like ale. This is my favourite: It's a strong ale at about 9%. Don't know how easy it is to get in the USA though.

    Pipe stem blocked

It wasn't a stinger, I managed to dislodge what was inside: looks like a load of ash/burnt tobacco. Lucky I managed to get it out because it was stuck good and proper - hope that's a rarity.

    Pipe stem blocked

What's a stinger and how do I remove it? It's a churchwarden stem so its pretty long.

    Pipe stem blocked

The stem of my pipe is completely blocked and I can't seem to dislodge whatever it is that's down there. Any advice?

    McClelland tobacco in UK

No worries - if any UK members have had experience from buying from 4Noggins (in relation to the duties) and could tell me of the likely costs involved (as well as any noticeable hindrances) it would be much appreciated.

    McClelland tobacco in UK

Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't think UKtobacco.com stocks the brand and although 4noggins ships to the UK I think the duties would be extortionate to the extent it wouldn't be worth buying.

    McClelland tobacco in UK

I hear rave reviews about the blends of this company and was wondering if it's sold in the UK? Or if there are any plans to sell it in the UK?

Smoking Ban Killing British Pub Trade

This is British orientated but it's still quite interesting, could possibly signal a change in policy... From the Institute of Economic Affairs - a British free-market (and influential body within the Conservative Party) think tank: http://blog.iea.org.uk/?p=4222 Is the smoking ban to blame for...

    New Pipe Smoking

I've managed to sort of figure it out, certainly the pipe is lasting for a lot longer and it's actually 'smoking'. I have to say that I wish I'd bought a more traditional pipe: I find the churchwarden a bit cumbersome but I'll easily remedy that by getting another pipe in due course! The tobacco...

    New Pipe Smoking

Thanks for the advice all. This is the pipe I bought: The bowl is pretty small on it, but even so, is it common for a small bowled pipe to last only 3-5 minutes? I think I might try and get a more traditionally shaped pipe with a larger bowl; I'll also get a tin or two of the tobacco you've...

    New Pipe Smoking

I usually smoke a couple of cigars over the weekend to enjoy/relax and decided to invest in a pipe because A) it works out cheaper (from spending about £15 on one cigar) and B) it's suppose to be highly enjoyable. The transition hasn't been too smooth: I invested in a Peterson Churchwarden and...
