    What’s Your Favorite Esoterica/Germain’s Blend?

Dunbar varies batch to batch quite a bit. I've had bags that the leaves are super blonde, other much darker. Don't think QC is much of a thing in the Islands.

    What’s Your Favorite Esoterica/Germain’s Blend?

Dunbar is my favorite and I'm stacked deep on that blend. However, Tillbury has really grown on me.

    Opening Night - mold issues.

Good call. Laudisi. I hadn't thought of that. The 3 good cans do smell amazing. Apricots....yum.

    Opening Night - mold issues.

Just popped a 1/2 lb can from 2018ish to find a big ol' hairy ball of mold in the middle. It was 1 of 4 cans I had in the cellar. The other 3 are fine and smell wonderful. C&D doesn't seem to have a customer service link on their website. So odd how mold just randomly happens. Happy 3 of...

    Any Bicyclists Out There?

To add...modern drive trains suck. Used to be that you just replaced the chain when it stretches out. Now, the entire drivetrain needs to be replaced after a few thousand miles.

I have a Ti 29'er, a Ti Lightspeed Road bike and a bunch of others. It's a curse....

***What Are You Smoking, May 2025?***

Been working through a can of '18 Sutliff Red Crumble Cake. I threw one can in a jar about a year ago and let it sit. Did wonders. It's more fruit forward now, a very good all day smoke. Glad I squirreled away a few pounds for the future.

***What Are You Smoking, February 2025?***

Been working through 50 g of 5 y/o "new" strang. It was pretty harsh in year 1, but after 5 years it has melded nicely. Have no idea what the original strang tasted like.

I cracked a jar of Curly Block from '18. Another fine example of the genre.

Your Opinion on Bruno Nuttens' Bings?

I have one of his Bings. Nice straight grained piece. The bit is solid. Good smoker and did not have to break the bank.

***What Are You Smoking, August 2024?***

Popped a tin of some 5 yo H&H Marble Kake. I had tried it before I tinned it up, it was good but rough. 5+ years in the cellar it has improved quite a bit. Less rough edges and a tad sweeter. Most excellent.

Exactly like this one. Never gets wet. Fine piece of engineering. I love really gnarly blasts and imho MP is right up there with the best.

What are You Watching? [2024] Please Rate 1-5

The new Drive to Survive. It's the weakest of the seasons for sure. 3 out of 5. Next up will be Shogun, one of my favorite books as a young man.

    Oldest Smoked Tobacco...

The oldest I have in the cellar is a '78 Mac Barren Dark Twist. The oldest I have smoked was some Hal o the wynde that was made by Charles. Forget the exact date but it was from 80's? Was great for about a week and then turned into shitdust. EDIT: I rehydrated some old Cope's Escudo. It ended...
