    Boswells Pipes and Tobacco

I placed my first order with Boswell's a month or so ago (Apple Strudel, No Bite DeLite, Pennsylvania Dutch Treat, and Mild English). I have to say I was disappointed in the Apple Strudel. I've been looking for a good apple blend and that was the main reason for ordering from Boswells. I've...

What method do you use to Break in a new Pipe?

A lot depends on the pipe. Many, if not most, of the better factory pipes don't really require breaking in (a Savinelli or Peterson, for example). If it's raw briar inside (a cheaper pipe, or a fancy handmade pipe), then start with 1/3 to 1/2 bowl for the first few times you smoke it. Don't let...

    Bents or Straights?

The majority of my small collection is bents (1/4 or 1/2). I also have one "oddball" in my Savinelli Bing's Favorite, a pipe with a extra long stem but not as long as a churchwarden (total length is about 7"). It has a very slightly bent. It's one of my favorites.

    Pipe Reaming. How to.

If you do get a Senior Reamer (as suggested by Haunted and Bob) there are some videos on YouTube for using it. Apple Blends?

Thanks for everyone's recommendations. I have about four new blends on order to try. If I find one that I think is way about average I'll post back.

    Apple Blends?

@pstlpkr You used to be able to find Middleton Apple all over the place, now it's hit or miss. If you want to try a pipe or two of Middleton and/or Boswell Apple Strudel, send me your address by PM and I'm mail you enough for a couple of pipes. I have way more than I need. I'm thinking of...

    Apple Blends?

Thanks for the suggestions, Phil. I ordered a few ounces of Blue Ridge Apple this morning, along with a couple of other apple blends. I'm like you, I've never quite found an apple blend I like. I'm slowly trying every one out there. Milan's Sangria isn't an apple blend, but there's a hint of...

    Apple Blends?

I continue my search for a great apple aromatic. Has anyone tried either of these apple blends? Tinderbox Country Apple http://www.tinderbox.com/Tinder-Box-Country-Apple-Pipe-Tobacco-H Music City Marketing Brand Apple...

Welcome New Members. Introduce Yourself. (2)

Greetings. I just joined today. A little about me: I have a small collection of Savinelli pipes, and a couple by other makers. I'm not really into fancy pipes, I just like a good briar in a shape I like. I goes back and forth between aromatics and non-aromatics. Some of my current favorites...
