Only Known Photo of me Smoking. Circa 1989.

I was the IT lead for a small group of medical schools, and have countless friends from that era. I know well the transition you are talking about! It's not an easy time to fine time for self care!

Only Known Photo of me Smoking. Circa 1989.

I'd say it's a tie with your profile photo!

    1999 Assortment of Tobaccos.

Sold! Happy that they are going to a good home instead of spending another 10 years in a box in my closet!

    1999 Assortment of Tobaccos.

The rules dictated that I state a selling price, and even when I worded it accurately as "hoping to get $900" the post was deleted. I only put that price because the standing offer I already have is not far below that... I have no expectation of getting $900, and tried to emphasize that people...

    1999 Assortment of Tobaccos.

Same with the aging and selling things. This week I sold a relatively now unattainable set of motorcycle parts that few are interested in, but are in high demand from those folks. Don't get me started on firearms! Sold off almost all of that when I left the country for a while. Unfired...

    1999 Assortment of Tobaccos.

Thanks! I have a number of things that I paid top dollar for over the years because they were uncommon, I absolutely wanted them, and they were within my "no problem" price range at each given time. I still think, "How cool is it that I have that!" The more time that goes by, the less the...

Reattaching a Tenon Broken off the Stem?

This is exactly the idea I had... using an insert that secures the two pieces internally. Simply joining the two pieces end to end won't work. I do all of my own repair work on just about everything and figure this is pretty simple and zero risk to the pipe itself. I am going to have a look...

    Corona Old Boy service?

I heard back from both shops; the manufacturer does not allow parts to be sold, other than items such as the tamper, filler screw cap, etc. Makes sense. I hadn't realized that they discontinued the briar versions altogether due to the cost of material.

Seeking: George Karr from The Tinder Box, late 80's to early 90's.

George was a kind and fantastic guide for me as I started my pipe smoking journey. The majority of my pipes came at his suggestion, and I fondly remember looking forward to seeing him in the shop. We eventually became friends outside of the shop, having a few movie nights (thank you for The...

    1999 Assortment of Tobaccos.

After getting a few offers from another site, I decided to go ahead and post them for sale here in the tobacco sale subforum. The rules require that a price has to be stated, so while I went high, it isn't much above those offers, and the forum rules also say that offers can be made... There...

***What Are You Smoking, January 2024?***

Switching it up. Today is my Savinelli "Bing's Favorite"; also one of my originals and still favorites.

What Type of Stems do You Prefer?

Yikes! I also don't mind one type over another, and agree on the colors!

    Five Favorite 21st Century Novels

I have read and listened to the books... quite a number of times. I've watched the show through twice.

I Don't Smoke in Warm Weather. You?

You know what? It may be the humidity that I'm thinking of. I went from the PNW to the Florida Keys, and then to the Caribbean. I bet that was the real issue for me.

What Type of Stems do You Prefer?

It did, and I think I may have cleaned it up already... sorry, it's been a while since I last looked. But I think it was a slightly older Peterson that I bought used in '97. Not sure what the stem would be made of.

My Oldest Un-smoked pipe: a Karl Erik, Circa 1990

Ebay for pipes is a good idea. I have some tobacco I'd like to post, so the forum here is the way to go from what I've seen. No fees, for instance.

My Oldest Un-smoked pipe: a Karl Erik, Circa 1990

I just saw this: The sale price must be clearly listed for each item, including lots. A lot is defined as a group of tins, for one price. (ie: Lot 6 - 10 tins of Dunhill MM965 - $100). No offers only, silent auctions, etc. That will be tough with one of the things I want to sell as it's...

My Oldest Un-smoked pipe: a Karl Erik, Circa 1990

I'm going to post a few things here later today. Does a price have to be set, or can people simply make offers via PM? How are you selling yours?

Culling the Herd: Anyone Else Feel the Need to do So?

I only have a dozen or so, but I've had most of them for 3 decades and only smoke about half of them. I'm thinking I will sell the others off as I don't really need them, and someone else will enjoy them.

Who has a David Jones Pipe?

I may end up selling them as I have several larger pipes like that, and I really prefer smaller ones.
