Congrats on that fine acquisition! Hope it is at least as good as it looks from the photo.

Oh! Hahah, terribly sorry. I'm a bit out of sorts today. Please forgive my absent-mindedness.

    Christopher Besse Bent Dublin Churchwarden

I recently acquired this beauty from Christopher Besse, aka Shikano53. My second Christopher Pipe, and absolutely my favorite pipe since breaking it in. I have a predilection to churchwardens and Dublins (and all variations of), so this pipe was a natural fit. The hearty chamber with generous...

Kibo Rides Again (War Horse and

@woodsroad, I am a little ride south of Pittsburgh. @papipeguy and @condorlover, these three are in the regular rotation for me. In fact, I'm enjoying a bowl of WHB now. Glad you all enjoyed my reviews. That encourages me to do more. I think my next up will be Bengal Slices in a couple weeks...

    Christoper Besse Stout Pot Review

Okay, apologies for the massive delay. Couldn't type with a broken hand, and the cast just recently came off... The Stout Pot, at 56g, is heavier than most of my others by a fair shake(My Marlborough bent Rhodesian clocks at around 47g, most of my other short pipes falling in range of 44-48) ...

Sorry about the long delay. I just couldn't manage to type with a broken hand, but the cast is off and I am back! Let's get to it! War Horse Bar, the much lauded rebirth of Gallagher's classic blend...It is difficult to put to words anything to do it true justice. Popping open the tin, the...

Thanks for the compliments all! The Bar and Green reviews are coming soon, but I wanted to get on here with my preface (so I don't forget to mention it later!) about my prep methods. I cut a length of the bar to what I need (for relevance sake, think 'vertical'), then cut the sliver in half...

    Christoper Besse Stout Pot Review

Sorry for the delay in replying. I've since decided that it's my baby for Ennerdale Flake, and they just go beautifully together. As to weight (an oversight in my original post), it is a little heftier than other pipes of similar size, but not extremely. That said, I'm a holder, so I don't mind...

What Of Gawith Hoggarth & Co. Bosun Cut Plug?

Well, Jay, many thanks for that tipoff, and apologies for not acknowledging sooner. I just had to share this beautiful bit of news; the very retailer whose customer service rep told me that BSC was discontinued HAS IT IN STOCK! Amazing, and a bit baffling, how this misinformation could come...

    Christoper Besse Stout Pot Review

I promised a review/discussion on the Stout Pot pipe by Christopher Besse (or as many here know him, @shikano53), after I had time to put it through its paces, and here we are! Now, I hope this doesn't break a rule by sharing this link, but in case anyone wasn't aware of his work...

Which Bourbon For A Brit Newbie?

Something to add, that I forgot to mention. I was taught to taste it through my nose first, before sipping. If aiming to enjoy the flavor, that is; before that first sip, hold your glass to your nose, mouth open, and inhale, much like other whiskies. There is often a lot the tongue alone misses...

Recommended Cavendish for the New Guy

I rather enjoy Drew Estates Toasted Black Cavendish. By itself, it isn't terribly outstanding, but enjoyable. It also mixes quite nicely with anything I've tossed it in with thus far (Lane HGL, Peter Stokkebye Vanilla Creme, Cornell & Diehl Berry Good).
