Finish Bubbling on Kaywoodie Supergrain 71

I recently got my first Kaywoodie, a 71 (I believe) Supergrain with an Oval Shank. Estate pipe, possibly from late 60s (?). Smokes like an absolute dream, maybe better than a lot of my newer pipes. It's hot in my house, 78 at night - air conditioner ain't working. So I went out for a night...

    Plastered Dr. Grabow Viscount

I recently attained this Rusticated Dr. Grabow Viscount, with a beeeeg chonk torn out of it. Originally I was intending to fill the offending section with briar dust and cyano acrylates. Then I removed the mouthpiece. It was stuck at first and I thought someone had glued it in. THEN it finally...

Can Anyone Identify this Snifter Pipe Mark?

I picked up this "unbranded" estate pipe. However, it clearly has a logo on the mouthpiece which has a push fit stinger. The pipe mark on the mouthpiece looks like a drinking glass 🧐 I think. I checked pipephil EU BUT didn't find any matching pipe marks.

What's The Cure for Briar -and does it Make A Difference?

The Pipe and Tamper podcast, Episode 6 interviewed tobacconist Jim Simon of Hill & Hill Tobacconists of Grosse Point. Right in my neck of the woods of America's mitten. 🧤It's now been open more than 50 years. Here is what Jim said in the segment talking about why older pipes are better, which I...

    Nailing Windscreens

I have a Mr. Brog Old Army 21, with a Windscreen nailed to the bowl. Now, after owning it for about 4 years, the nails have started coming up. I can just push them back down though. 🤷🏾‍♂️ I have a mind to replace them with longer ones or even use screws. What types of nails or screw materials do...

    Elijah Craig Pipecraft

While I have had over 850+ different beers, I've only recently been exploring hard liquors. 💁🏾‍♂️🥃 Recently I acquired a taste for Elijah Craig Small Batch Kentucky straight Bourbon. As the bottle got lighter I started to think that this stopper might make a good pipe bowl. The problem is, I...

Unexplained Scars on Baraccini Mare Blu 404

I have a Baraccini Mare Blu 404, that I got in December. However, it's acquired some nicks. I can pass off the bowl rim as a result of lighter flame perhaps, BUT I just today noticed marks revealing natural briar on the bowl and on the shank. How could this happen? 🤷🏾‍♂️⛵🌊 I only put it in my...

    🐶 Smoking Dog Bones? 🦴

I don't own a Morgan Bones yet. BUT I recently noticed they have Dog Bones. Now I have always been a fan of dogs smoking, drinking , and playing cards. 🎴🐶🚬But 3 pipes for 5 bucks each? 🤔 If you added stems, you could smoke them. Now I wonder, what quality are these pipes? I mean supposedly bones...

    🥚Can You Smoke An Egg?🤔

What I'm wondering now is whether you can smoke an egg🤷🏿‍♂️? By, which, I mean can you pack a pipe bowl with tobacco -light it, and then place the egg on top of it and cook the egg? What Kind of Pipe? Now of course I imagine this would work best with a sitter for stability. The second problem...

Anyone Actually Like the Big Ben Tattoo?

This is a clay pipe but it has a fire resistant plastic outside. It's supposed to be for quick smokes. BUT what makes the design sharp is the high contrast between the colorful exterior and the white rim of the bowl when it's brand NEW. That's why I bought it. I only gave it a bit of blue flame...
