Your thoughts on MM minnies?
I have a few MM minis, and find them quite handy. One regular and one mini stashed in my bag-that's-always-packed for when I have to jet out the door country, a couple in my desk for trying an odd blend or what have you, and a couple unsmoked for those times when an inexperienced friend comes... -
If You Could Only Smoke One Brand . . .
I'd have to go with C&D as well, both for variety and quality. While my top three were from other brands, C&D make many of my "runners-up"--Manhattan Afternoon, Red Carpet, Sunday Picnic, Milk & Honey, Bayou Morning, Berry Good, Apricots & Cream...oh, I could go on.- romeowood

What type of finish to use on an oak pipe?
Oak has a naturally very high tannin content, and is much easier to char than briar--so you'll end up smoking plenty of wood with your tobacco, pipeturner. I wouldn't recommend it other than to practice shaping. Wood toxicity listings are readily available on the InterWebs, but they are measures...- romeowood

Layering Tobacco in the Bowl
I've gotten in the habit of layering aromatics and VaPers with alarming regularity--generally in an Oreo cookie fashion; i.e., the aromatic layered between a sandwich of VaPers. The best so far? Anniversary Kake and Cherry Bomb, or perhaps Escudo and Peterson Xmas '10. Try it, you'll like it...- romeowood

An Interesting Observation. Animal Reactions to Tobacco
