Hello Jeff, It was boxed, packed in bubblewrap and plenty polysterene loose fill. The German seller is experienced in shipping pipes. Most Italian sellers ship in a flimsy envelope, no matter you ask them not to. Always turned out fine and now this happens with a so rare pipe.- orlandofurioso
