  1. The Turk

    Major Mess-up

Elmer's glue will make it whole again Rick.

***What Are You Smoking, December 2025?***

Mixed TPT Flake 50 with Elizabethan Mixture. TPT Flake 50 is a Virginia and Turkish blend with a very light fig and molasses topping. Subtly sweet and overall great smoke. Paired with linden tea steeped with quince.
  3. The Turk

    Major Mess-up

Applied the glue, waiting for it to cure. Fingers crossed. Thank God I don't have a Bo Nordh :)
  4. The Turk

    Major Mess-up

Thank you all. Hope I didn't damage the cob when ramming the shank in. Will definitely use Elmer's glue.

    Major Mess-up

Hello friends, When trying to remove the stem of my MM Country Gentleman, I accidentally removed the shank also. I rammed it in with force and gave firm taps on the table (felt like a caveman learning how to use a gavel —not the shrewdest judge out there). It seems like it fits like as before...

***What Are You Smoking, December 2025?***

C&D Bijou in MM The Boone bent. Lovely Istanbul rain.

Am i smoking too hot, if smoke comes out of the chamber?

I try to smoke outdoors, and come winter tide, usually the wind smokes half of my pipe. Hope it likes VaPers.

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid

Definitely something floral, and definitely not Virginia :)

    Anyone Tried Smoke-King UK?

That's great to hear. Maybe I'll drop by when in Leeds. Thank you.

    Anyone Tried Smoke-King UK?

The title, basically. I was wondering whether anyone tried the internet seller Smoke-King UK. It looks like they have the best selection available. Thanks,

***What Are You Smoking, November 2025?***

Carver of the CAO Meerschaum pipes, İsmet Bekler passed away in 2018. He had taught a lot of meerschaum pipe makers. CAO's owner Cano Aret Özgener also passed away not long after in 2018. He was a prominent figure in popularization of Turkish meerschaum in the US.

***What Are You Smoking, November 2025?***

Turkish Pipe Tobacco Red 50 (cherry and dark chocolate aromatic, Virginia and Turkish base) in an MM The Boone straight stem. The tobacco needs a lot of drying time, but it tastes delicious.

Where to Get Cult BRM in London

I don't think so. All tobacconists sell only tins, and when selling in bulk, they sell what they have in tins.
  15. The Turk

    Burley Blend (No-name yet)

That's the place bearded wizards dwell. Be cautious.

Where to Get Cult BRM in London

Got it, thanks. Would you recommend any cherry substitute that can be found in London?

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid

Love to be here! The brother in my icon is smoking a çubuk (pronounced chubuk), which was the traditional way of smoking tobacco together with hookah in the Ottoman Empire. You can say it was the mosquewarden :) Attaching Théobald Chartran's « The Chibouk Smoker » (1877).

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid

That's actually quite the insight. I have less of a problem with easier blends and I don't get the acrid taste (sometimes cigar-like) as much. Thanks,

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid

I'm based in Istanbul but travel frequently to the UK. It shouldn't be hard for me to find meerschaum in Türkiye :)

Ends of the Bowls Getting Acrid

I will sure try that. Trying to source it. Thank you all,
