    Anyone Here Familiar with DOSBOX?

Let me know if that works for you, if not, feel free to PM me and I might be able to clarify or otherwise help. I've been using Dosbox to play old games for several years now.

    Anyone Here Familiar with DOSBOX?

In Windows, make a new folder on your computer's actual C: drive called dosgames or something similar. Keep in mind, the folder names I'm using are just examples. Create a subfolder there with a name like kingsq5 and paste the game files into it. You can make subdirectories for different games...

    Double Edged Razor Blades

My favorite DE blades: Astra Superior Stainless Silver Star (Lord) Rapira Super Stainless Racer Stainless (Lord) I have two razors: a Lord L6 and a Rimei A2001, both with heavier, knurled replacement handles. They just plain work and always give me a great shave, so I see no reason to upgrade.

Why Some Pipes Deliver More Nicotine

I think straight black cavendishes might have negative nicotine. At any rate, it's imperceptible to me, and I probably have a low tolerance because I don't smoke much or often.

Found out a Friend is a Pipe Smoker!

I wish I had a friend or friends that were into tobacco pipes. Of my two best friends, one smokes cigars and the other cigarettes. I've been subtly trying to convert them to pipes for years, now. Cigarette smoker friend bought a cob, but has hardly touched it.

Why Do Aromatics Have a Bad Rap?

I get your point. The usage of words changes over time. I just feel that the modern use of the word "aromatic" in regards to tobacco is the one most relevant to discussions on the subject in 2023. If we start referring to every English blend as an "aromatic" it will just confuse the newbies even...

    Question re: Unopened Tobacco.

You can sell the pipes either new (unsmoked) or used "estate" on eBay. Perfectly fine with eBay and I do it all the time, as do many others. Just make sure to list them accurately and honestly. If you want to sell the tobacco but aren't sure how, contact Pipestud. He will sell and ship it for...

Why Do Aromatics Have a Bad Rap?

Respectfully, the word "aromatic" when used in the context of tobacco, is used to refer to tobaccos with flavoring (and often sugar) added during the processing. The dictionary definition of the word is moot.

All Pipe Smokers are Weird...Except You and Me.

Maybe I'm weird; I do not suffer from "PAD", and I do not own 300 pipes because I set a hard limit on my own pipe purchasing (no intervention on the wife's part required). I've got a 12 pipe rack for my briars and pear wood pipes, and a small wooden box from the crafts store that I keep my cobs...

Why Do Aromatics Have a Bad Rap?

There are a small handful of aromatics that I do like, but my way of thinking is this; when I pick up a pipe, I want to taste tobacco. If I wanted to taste sugary artificial cherry flavoring, I could eat a piece of candy instead. Heavy aromatics are kind of like the wine coolers of the pipe...

Robert McConnell Blends - Your Opinion?

Haven't had much free time to spend on here for a while, but checked back in after I saw this thread lighting up. I appreciate all the feedback. Looks like I'm going to have to add a couple more McConnell blends to the hoard. The flakes sound especially appealing. So far I've tried McC Rich...

Sealed Tins, Jars, and High Altitudes

Good to know on the mylar, thanks. Thank you to everyone who has chimed in. Looks like I shouldn't be worried about it.

Sealed Tins, Jars, and High Altitudes

Hoping some folks that live in high altitude regions can chime in. I'm about to move, and of course I'm bringing my entire tobacco collection with me, including both round and square factory-sealed tins, jars I packed myself, sealed mylar bags with air inside, plastic tubs, cardboard cans, and...

Blends With Latakia but Without Virginia or Burley

Yeah, often it seems that there is no differentiation between burley and virginia cavendish, and it just gets labeled "cavendish." I think this contributes to the common misconception that cavendish is a type of tobacco rather than a method of processing. American cavendish is usually going to...

Anyone Actually Like the Big Ben Tattoo?

Honestly, when I saw those on P&C, my thought was that they looked like overpriced crap. You could get a Grabow or one of P&C's Crown briars for that price. My opinion doesn't matter though, because if you enjoy smoking it, then it's a good pipe for you.

Wow, just realized when this was originally posted. Why are we resurrecting ancient threads?

Lane Limited RLP-6 and a Smile

Try Lane HGL - an aromatic with a pinch of smoky Latakia. I've been enjoying it quite a bit as of late. Welcome to the hobby!

    Do I Attempt A Repair?

It should cost less than $10 to ship a pipe via USPS standard. I do it all the time.

Missouri Meerschaum Cob - Blue Barcode Label?

Not sure why I didn't think of that to begin with.

Missouri Meerschaum Cob - Blue Barcode Label?

Yeah, it seems like it would be a lot of effort to go to just to copy such a low-dollar item. The Chinese cobs on Amazon are easy to tell from a real MM at a glance, and I don't think I've ever seen a plastered one. It's his first pipe, so he wanted to make sure he got a real one.
