Go-to Blend For Curing Tongue Bite?

But tongue irritation ("bite") is Not about heat. Tongue Bite is a chemical (alkaline) burn of the oral tissue. Simply, if it were related to heat, one would never be able to tolerate the amount of heat that would do injury to the tongue. Chemical burn requires NO heat. Solution: smoke tobacco...

    Peterson Mark Twain stamp question

It smokes fine. I just would like it to look like a Mark Twain and I like the fatter stem like the original.

    Peterson Mark Twain stamp question

Sold on eBay as a "Sherlock Holmes", someone replaced the stem which is NOT like the original. Peterson charges 36 Pounds + 15 shipping to match a stem to the bowl. Gotta send it to them to get it done.

    Peterson "Repair" stamp question

I have a Pete Mark Twain (1981) with the stamp almost gone. I need to send the bowl to the mother ship for a new stem and was wondering if they are willing to renew the stamp. Thinking that there's probably no way they offer that service. Just curious. New to the forum, I don't know how to add a...

Bowler Bulldog - S.S. Pierce Co.??

THAT's the pipe, Cap'n! I saw the integrity in the posted photo and I'm a sucker for the basic bulldog. Gonna be a fine smoker after the clean up. It hasn't been smoked a great deal - next to no chatter on the bit. Looks like it sat on a shelf for many years waiting for me to rescue it.

Bowler Bulldog - S.S. Pierce Co.??

I recently bought (eBay) a nice medium size bulldog: "Bowler made in London England" + "S.S.Pierce Co." "4". I can find lots of info re S.S. Pierce Company in Boston. I can't find anything about WHO might have made this pipe, the age, sizes/shapes, etc. Any info would be appreciated.

    Howdy Ya'll from Central Texas

Hey Guys! Thanks for the warm welcome. Yeah, she's still here. That's my wife your talkin' about! And Austin is an anomaly, a state of mind, and just too popular for it's own good. A native Texan, I've been here since 1971. I've witnessed (with chagrin!) Austin go from Heaven to Hipster to...

    Howdy Ya'll from Central Texas

I’m a new member from Austin TX and I can’t remember whether I have introduced myself or not. So, I’ll do so now (or again). I bought my first pipe in circa 1964 when I was a young troop (Army Security Agency) in Korea. A buddy gave me some Mixture 79. I tried it and felt like throwing up...

    Frustration !!!!

I appreciate this thread! After being away from my pipes for years, I recently got back into them (my wife says “addicted”). I just bought some of P&C “Match My Mixture 965” and for the first time ever learned what Tongue Bite is - more like whole mouth Bite. No fun!! I’m NOT sure that it’s...
