judging interest for Germain's Special Latakia flake group buy

I would be in for 3 tins of latakia flake and 3 tins of brown flake if you were going to order that as well. Thanks for putting in the effort to obtain these.

    Pipes and cigars tax

Many states have a use tax meaning if you buy something out of state and use it in your home state, you have to declare it on your tax return and pay sales tax on it.

October Tobacco Crawl with Greg L. Pease

After 5-6 bowls of QN, I am pleased to have found another blend that makes me happy. Before we started the crawl, I thought it would be my favorite of the crawl blends from reading thru the descriptions. It wound up being my third favorite behind JKP and Sextant with all three being very good to...

October Tobacco Crawl with Greg L. Pease

I really enjoyed Sextant. I think it is the latakia and Kentucky combination that is what does it for me. The Kentucky seems to enhance the smokiness I love about latakia, but tapers the sharpness and pallete drying that sometimes occurs. The tin note was awesome upon opening but faded faster...

    Brandy flavoured tobaccos recommendations?

    I like GLP Barbary Coast

Venturing into cigars (...as a side. I'll never abandon my pipes!)

Don't use the 84% packet. It is too much humidity and you will have mold issues. Get something in the 65-68% range. Try to keep the temperature below 70 deg F. to help prevent any possible beetle eggs from hatching. As far as cigars go, try different types. You'll get as many suggestions as you...

G L Pease Virginia Cream At SPC

Thanks, just got some (and other stuff I probably don't need!). Did anyone sign up for the one time notification for it? I did but haven't been notified yet.

October Tobacco Crawl with Greg L. Pease

I am really enjoying JKP. I am usually a cube cut guy, but I enjoy it rubbed out much more (same with sixpence). Like most already stated, it is rich and full flavored without any harshness. I really love the heft of the smoke. I am a big fan of having a dense smoke that you feel you can almost...

    Marriage + PAD + TAD

Don't feel guilty, you bought yourself a gift. We also do like prariedruid and each put a certain amount from our checks into a joint account for house/family stuff and keep the rest in our own personal accounts for our own whims. That being said, I still intercept the UPS driver :-)

    The hub-ub of limited editions?

I don't think I am drawn to buy a limited edition for any other reason being that I may like it and want to get some before it's gone. I did buy the Squadron Leader with perique because I like Squadron Leader to begin with. Luckily, I was not disappointed and will smoke it until it's gone. I...

    Being Prepared, Everyday Carry

I always have a pipe tool and cigar cutter on me. Having an eight year old, I have used the poker on the pipe tool to undo many knotted shoelaces and I am also in great demand to open up all the kids' freeze pops after soccer games with my cigar cutter.

Looking to cut costs on pipe tobacco

I like McClelland No.2015 VaPer Flake. I bought some awhile back along with Star of the East flake and enjoyed the McClelland much more. Good VA tangy blend.

    Morning Smoke?

When I can get a morning smoke in during the warmer weather, I like autumn evening, Barbary coast or Scotty's butternut burley. In the cooler weather, it's usually anything with latakia.

*** What Are You Smoking?*** (September 2015)

This morning I had autumn evening in a cob (autumn evening on a summer morning is as rebellious as I get nowadays) and now I'm enjoying some RO fire storm in a bent Brebbia noce.

    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone, After lurking for a couple of months, I have decided to join the forum. I live in upstate New York and have been a cigar smoker for close to 20 years and an on and off pipe smoker for 12 or so with my pipes getting more attention in the past few months. I'm looking forward to...
