How many bowls does it take?
I will smoke about half of the tin (50g) which usually is about 10 bowls or less. I only do that if I really dont think I will like it. Lets say I really cant stand a blend, ill do the whole test period. If I like it, or I kind of like it, I just keep smoking it until its gone. Usually it...- jchaplick

@ captain bob, see I agree with that too. For me on the whole smaller pipes smoke them better, Buuuuuut, my big pipes that smoke them well, smoke them better than the small ones....hope that made sense.- jchaplick

That was one of my biggest problems when starting, I smoked to fast so I bought all big pipes, no I have learned to slow down so they are all too big. I do agree that smaller pipes make for better VA smokers, mileage may vary- jchaplick

Favorite Pipe Material
I agree with you Uber, My favorite smoke is my calabash, so for smoking prowess I would only smoke that. But for all the other qualities, durability, portability, style ect I would put Briar for my first. Then maybe MM then meer. Calabash is at the top but moves depending on my day -

Pretty Awesome Day
Not gonna lie, I had a good day too, Spent the day with my aun and uncle at their mountain house, fly fished all morning, went four wheeling in the day, did some work helping them with the barn they were building, fly fished some more, finished off the day with some a great dinner, some more 4...- jchaplick

What's a shape you just don't like?
I dont like oom pauls or figural pipes. Churchwardens arent my favorite, but I have seen some I like. Then there are some shapes that could go just either way for me. Apples, princes, billiards, and rhodesians are in that category -

Thats pretty much what I do, but if you do that they should be let to dry out a bit. Yeah just mush them up in your hands and stuff them in. You can also totally rub them out like a flake, I dont ever do that personally, I find it easier to mush and stuff haha- jchaplick
