What is the best Savinelli pipe?

Sooooo many variables. What style blend? What cut? Is it for lunting? Is it for a sit down session ? Does tactile feedback in pipes matter? How long do you wish the session to last? Do you want 6 or 9mm filters or none at all? See how complicated it can be? Or otherwise just go to Savinelli's...

What is the best Savinelli pipe?

I start my morning with coffee and my Oscar Sav 315…..one of the first grown up pipes I purchased and it is still going strong. If I am going to sit around and for certain blends a 320. Love the author shape but it is heavy and not a clencher. But that has not stopped me from collecting them. I...

    Pipe for clenching

I prefer a lightweight cutty/belge or simple lightweight billiard or prince for clenching. A nice nose warmer is always a favorite. When I am clenching a pipe it usually means my hands are busy at some task and I am fine with having a smaller bowl as far as length of smoke is concerned. When I...

I have been refilling a mason jar of SPC plum pudding for years with no ill effect other than a thinner wallet.

    Do You Reuse Mason Jars?

Jars yes, lids no…retaining ring yes. Just wash the jar in hot soapy water (you can get a bottle washer to reach down to the bottom of large jars at Rural King, TSC, etc) …rinse very well…put them on an oven trey. Set the oven to 200-220 and let the jars bake for twenty minutes. Remove and put a...

    Mason Jar Lid Rusting

Wow, that is crazy! Especially here in the midwest when during COVID you couldn't find any canning material.

A Third Falcon Drops From Above

I guess I haven't because I never have figured out which configuration would be best and whether to go bent or straight…I am a clencher, also if I need the "dental" bit or not. So many dang options it just becomes a bit overwhelming and I just grab the ol' 315.
