Do chess players change sides?
I'm guessing the changing sides in football would have been one of the earliest rules. The pitch might not be of the same standards, and there may have been a slope to one side. So changing end would make sense.
These days it's advantage is playing or not...
It certainly is interesting to find rain drops falling, and when you look up it is blue sky!
A rare fern normally resident in the Caribbean, was recently discovered growing in Killarney National Park.
I think what you refer to with Denmark was a 'free kick'. Because the foul was committed outside of the white rectangle, aka the box. With a free kick the opposition can position players no closer than 10 yards to the ball.

I stumbled across this gem of a short documentary video about Cahills tobacco shop in Limerick, Ireland.
It includes a brief history of tobacco growing in Ireland.

Happy New Year everyone.
Smoked my first pipe of the year in my straight Peterson Dublin. First time smoking Dunhill Ye Olde Signe with some cinnamon coffee.
I thought a bowl of porridge would be sufficient beforehand but I was wrong. It's really hit me now I'm walking into work.
Not the...
A gardesana Pecher lurks in the darkness with some haunted Bookshop. Watching the city lights while listening to Wardruna is really atmospheric.
