    Help with Revitalising Pipe Tobacco

Tbh I think I’m going to keep the boveda in as if that’s what’s drying the tobacco out it seems to be almost perfect for smoking straight from the jar, leaves little moisture compared to normal in the bottom of the bowl. But thanks for the heads up about the paper towel method. Will use that if...

    Help with Revitalising Pipe Tobacco

Ah sorry I forgot to mention that. The pack is still very squishy, so it must be too low compared to what the tobacco was. I did have a bowl of the tobacco and it seemed to still pack well enough even though it was a fair bit dryer than I normally smoke. I need to give the tobacco another shot...

    Help with Revitalising Pipe Tobacco

Ah right. The packs I am using are the 62%. Are they too low an RH for pipe tobacco? When I looked online I read that pipe tobacco should be stored at a lower RH than cigars and that Boveda do 49% packs specifically for pipe tobacco. Should I remove the packs from my storage to prevent my other...

    Help with Revitalising Pipe Tobacco

EDIT: Fixed Capitalization in Title (See Rule 9) Hi all! so I recently purchased a variety of tobaccos and I store them in mason jars with a small boveda pack in. I decided I was going to smoke my pipe this afternoon at a local nature reserve and so I put all my pipe stuff including the mason...

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

So I’ve just received a tin of Peterson’s Summertime 2020 blend and A range of aromatics which I’ve mixed together and put in an airtight container. The stuff in the container is an xmas pudding style mix and I’ll be cellaring it for the next few months to let the flavours mingle together. Will...

    Aromatic Home Blend Recipes

Thanks for the info and advice. I’m planning on tinkering with some readily available aromatics and making a blend from them. Got an xmas pudding idea that I plan on cellaring ready for this Xmas to see how the flavours have mingled

    Aromatic Home Blend Recipes

Sounds like a nice mix. I sadly may struggle to get some of those here in the U.K. so will have to be an import job

    Hi from South West UK

Hi. So far the ones that have stuck out to me from a Peterson are not fitted with their P-lip stem. Is it wrong that I’m drawn towards some of their more colourful offerings such as the Atlantic range? Nice on the Land Rover! Some of the older defenders of looked after will last for decades...

    Hi from South West UK

Thank you all for the warm welcome and advice, it will definitely get put to good use. I went for a walk locally and took my pipe with me. Will be picking some new tobacco shortly as I’m almost out of my first pouch.

    Aromatic Home Blend Recipes

Hi all, Does anyone have any own made blends of aromatic tobaccos they have enjoyed and are happy sharing? I am wanting to get into making my own aromatic blends and am interested in trying others recipes to see what works well together and what is possible. I have a few ideas of flavours I...

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

Will do! I’ve tried GH American Cherry and Vanilla, and thought it was ok, got some of the flavour through but that was on odd sips of my pipe. But that was an easy tobacco to smoke. Which of those brands would you recommend for me to try? What’s your favourite of their offerings?

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

Hi Chopper, yeah with importing tobaccos from overseas, depending on how the retailer has labelled the package it can either slip by customs or like you have encountered, you get a tax invoice that needs to be paid. I have heard of 4noggins before and will check them out along with...

Help with Breaking In My Pipe

If I continue with the half bowl route. Can I smoke a few half bowls back to back before giving my pipe a proper clean and resting it? Or should I smoke a half bowl, give it a proper clean and then rest it 24hrs minimum?

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

Yeah that was the website I found. Not to worry I haven’t placed an order with them so I’ll steer clear of them. Don’t want to get mugged. May just have to make a trip over to the States and buy some of their stuff over there and bring it back. I’ve tried GH American CV which is ok. Will look...

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

Scratch that! Found a UK seller of C&D stuff. Will be a pricey order as they sell it as loose tobacco and they only ship loose pipe tobacco provided you meet a minimum weight of 1.1kg. So I may get to try a few flavours that way

    Aromatic Tobacco Recommendations

I will have to check them out. May be a little difficult getting the C&D stuff as I don’t see many retailers in the UK holding their brand. Was looking at trying Century Black Kathy as I’ve heard that has a good vanilla flavour and room note. Have tried Gawith &Hoggarths C&V and it’s ok. I may...
