David Barnes was a pipe shop in Kansas City Mo. Your pipe was a private label for his shop. I have three of these in a blond finish called Chablis, good little smokers I picked up in late '70's. Actually went to pick up one of the burgundys some time later but he had gone out of business.Only... -

Lots of tamping, am I just packing it wrong?
I've been smoking pipes for so many years that I have forgotten what a pain it was to learn how to pack and tamp a pipe in order to have an enjoyable smoke. Made me think about how I actually do pack a pipe, big mistake-not a good idea to over think the process. Just remember to pack it looser...- zooey159
