    Thanks for looking at it and your time. I’ve read that thread as well. I’m hoping it was just a stinger removal . It smokes well and the shank doesn’t get hot, I guess that’s the bottom line. Ty again.

    My #19 Old England is on left, you can see the mortise and the smaller opening that runs through the shank, Four Dot on right is open and tenon is larger. Was wondering if someone opened up the draft and drilled out the mortise or if it had a stinger removed.
