    Dud Pipe ?

It appears this thread has been thoroughly hijacked. For my part in that, I humbly apologize to the OP, Sgetz, and will refrain from do so any further.

    Dud Pipe ?

Oh, I think I'm eloquent enough to converse in any social situation. I agree with you in that you don't understand what I'm saying. I didn't complain about the rule. I responded in defense of a moderator's response to another forum member's response, which I believe was misinterpreted from the...

Your Earliest Pipe and Your Latest

I have no recollection of what I smoked 30 years ago. THIS go-round, my first was an HIS Italia bent apple, made by Guardesana, that my wife bought for me at Christmas, I guess 7 or 8 years ago. My latest is a Sasieni Patent Eight Dot "Barclay " I picked up.at Blue Room Briars a week or two ago.

    Favorite Handmade/Higher End Pipes

Jesse Jones of site sponsor Blue Room Briars makes incredible pipes for much less than other artisan makers and, IMO, nobody does classic shapes better! He does non traditional shapes, as well. If I'm not mistaken, he is a 4 time winner at the North American Pipe Makers contest! Plus, he will...

    Dud Pipe ?

It's not about "dissing", it's about showing both sides of the coin. I don't like whitewashed news, whitewashed reporting, whitewashed reviews, and I'd prefer not to have a whitewashed forum. It's about information. Accurate information.can only be had by hearing both sides of a debate. Sure...

You Can Literally Use the Word Literally, Literally Anyway You Want?

That is LITERALLY the funniest thing I've read all day!?
  12. tschiraldi

    Dud Pipe ?

While I see your point, I don't completely agree. When a brand is consistently prone to certain issues over a long period of time, I think we do a disservice to those not familiar with that brand, or product, or the issues common to it. If everybody was forced, by rule, to only extol the virtues...

Lighting Problems: Short Smokes and Ashy Bowls. Please Help!

You want to draw just enough to keep the pipe lit. If you puff too hard, you increase the heat inside the bowl, and too much heat destroys flavor. If your pipe has thick chamber walls, you may not notice the heat on the outside of the bowl. If you want more flavor, try retrohaling.

Lighting Problems: Short Smokes and Ashy Bowls. Please Help!

Lighting should not affect how long your smoke lasts. The only variables there are amount of tobacco in the pipe, how hard and how long you draw. I suspect you are puffing too much instead of taking small sips. This would account for the ashy taste halfway through, the large amount of visible...

    Bowl Maintenance

Least expensive usually means most damage. For around $20, Blue Room Briars will ream, clean, and shine her up like new. Small price to pay!

Vulcanite vs Acrylic Stems.....Which do you Prefer?

Vulcanite only for me. I find that with minimal care, a once a year good cleaning suffices. I think the amount of care needed is overstated and exaggerated. They are soooooo much more comfortable!

    All Day Blend, Finally

PS Luxury Twist Flake is like that for me. There are 3 or 4 others I smoke regularly, but if they all disappeared, I could survive with only LTF.
