Pipe Cleaner Not Passing Through Shank

Yes, I think I will ask the retailer to fix it, if possible. Otherwise I will send it back. It's a pity because it's my first meerschaum pipe....

Pipe Cleaner Not Passing Through Shank

Sorry for the late reply. Here's a photo of the pipe. No matter what I do, I can't pass a pipe cleaner through to the chamber.

Pipe Cleaner Not Passing Through Shank

The problem is, I can't clean about half of the shank using a pipe cleaner. It seems to me to be a manufacutring flaw and I'm not sure how I can fix it without damaging my pipe.

Thanks for the suggestion. I just checked after reading your message; I can blow through it.

Pipe Cleaner Not Passing Through Shank

Hi everyone, There seems to be a problem with my new Andreas Bauer meerschaum pipe. I have removed the stem in order to pass a pipe cleaner through the shank into the bowl but it keeps on getting stuck midway in the shank and doesn't reach the bowl. I am assuming this is not normal for...

    Zippo Butane Pipe Lighter Insert

That's been my experience with it as well. I bought it a few days ago because I thought it would be great to have two different kinds of Zippo pipe lighters but this one turned out to be pretty much useless for me. Also, maybe it's just a problem with my particular lighter but it often doesn't...

    Zippo Butane Pipe Lighter Insert

Is there a lower risk of the flame's coming into close proximity with the rim of the bowl as compared to a Sidekick pipe lighter, for example?

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

That gives me a lot of hope! :) I was particularly concerned about a couple of my limited edition cobs - especially the honeypot model, which is no longer available.

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

Yes, I gave up on the idea - not because it was gross but because of some of the ingredients of chewing gum. :) That's easy. :) I tried smoking cigars but found that I tended to make the leaf very moist (because I smoked them wet for some reason) and that just tasted bad. I guess it was a case...

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

Thanks for your replies, guys! :) Sorry for the late response. Actually, I did some research and, like Scott wrote above, it seems that chewing gum is partly composed of hydrocarbons - something I definitely do not want in my pipe bowls :) Besides, as almost all of you said, there really is no...

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

I think flammability might be the only cause for concern. I'll also have to check if chewing gum can release hazardous fumes when it's exposed to heat.

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

Thanks! That would be really nice of you :P I think it would go out really quickly if I don't smoke it.

MM Corncobs - Chewing Gum as Pipe Mud

Hi folks, I've just bought a MM Night Rider Country Gentleman that's got a perfect black stain on the bowl and I'd like to extend its longevity as much as I can. I have read and heard that cigar ash mixed with water works very well as pipe mud. The thing is, I don't smoke cigars so I thought of...

    New Cobs with Acrylic Stems

The William is also really nice. It's got a black stain (though a bit unevenly applied) and a long acrylic stem. https://corncobpipe.com/product/the-william-corn-cob-pipe/

Position of Draft Hole in New Full-Bent Pipe

Thanks, everyone, and thanks for the great explanation, Sasquatch! :) I will just use the pipe without a filter or filter-adapter, and remove the stem after smoking it so I can clean it properly. :)

Position of Draft Hole in New Full-Bent Pipe

Thank you for your reply. I'm really undecided because if I smoke it and don't like it, I won't be able to return it. On the other hand, i might be returning a pipe that's intentionally designed this way and which might very well be a really good one. Do I need to use an adapter (I don't use a...

Position of Draft Hole in New Full-Bent Pipe

Hi guys, I've just got a new Vauen 1435 full-bent pipe and before smoking it I thought I should pass my pipe cleaner through it. When it didn't go through to the bowl (despite my best efforts), I decided to remove the stem, and then saw that the position of the draft hole is quite high - so...

Brown Mark on Vulcanite Stem on Brand New Ropp Pipe

Thank you for your response, but I've already smoked the pipe once so I guess it's too late now. :) In any case, I was only worried about the possibility of any dangerous particles coming off the stem while smoking it. But those concerns have been allayed by the really helpful responses that I...

Brown Mark on Vulcanite Stem on Brand New Ropp Pipe

Thanks, everyone :) I was worried that it might be bad from a health perspective but since it's just a cosmetic flaw I'll just go ahead and start smoking it! If anything, these cosmetic 'defects' actually add more character to an item (I'll still try to make sure that the vulcanite doesn't...
