***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

Merde Cheval. This is a great red Virginia forward English blend. They add a great maple syrupy sweetness to the burleys. The Latakia is almost always there with some light Perique. There are Orientals, but they aren’t as important as everything else. This is a nice change of pace from your...

    Escudo

What’s so great about Escudo? Better are blends like Director’s Cut, especially the older stuff I have.

Dark Birdseye shag in a 50’s Bruyere.

2013 Vintage Syrian. Man, is this blend something special. Perfect for this chill.

    Changes in GH twists

This. Not that STG blends suck, they just would ruin Gawith and their way. I can say for sure that 2017 Skiff is completely different than what has been the past 3 years. There is a different casing and tobaccos. None the less, both are great Englishes. Glad they’re still around.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

2015 Quiet Nights. This is almost as good as a smoke as my 13’ Vintage Syrian and 17’ Skiff(my favorite Englishes). This is one great blend. I’m glad to have an 8 oz of this year.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

Closing the night with Early Morning Pipe. I wanted something light for a bowl after a bowl. I wonder what 50’s Early Morning Pipe tasted like with Syrian Latakia.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

2013 Vintage Syrian. Syrian Latakia is always a treat.

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

That’s a bit too much retrohaling for me. I go for what your friend does, maybe twice a bowl. I used to smoke like that as well and would be blasted with flavor until it started to kill my sense of smell. I’m not saying you don’t know what you’re doing. I also found the blend sweet. I didn’t...

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

13’ Old Dark Fired in a 1964 Shell. I like these 60’s Dunhill pipes a lot. They smoke better than a lot of the goofy patent stuff.

    Opening A Tin? Show Us!

What did you think about it? I found it to be one of their better Englishes.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

Smoked some of the new Penzance. This has become an even better blend now that it sat for a few weeks. This is a really good, sweet Latakia blend. A great deal more Oriental forward than Margate.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

Emp in a 321. These pipes smoke really well and I smoke this one often, but the briar doesn’t have a sweetness to it found in artisan and older pipes. I’ve heard other people say the same, that they lack a briar taste to them.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

The great Early Morning Pipe in a Grand Slam. This blend is so smooth, toasty, and inviting. One of the greatest morning/all day smokes.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

21’ Mac Baren Navy Flake. This is one of the better ‘honey’ Virginia blends.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

2013 Vintage Syrian. Perfect Latakia weather.

***What Are You Smoking, Nov. 2024?***

I have to completely disagree. Tonquin is in Nightcap, Westminster, as well as Quiet Nights. You can taste the subtle vanilla tone to it. It’s not so obvious in Westminster, but it’s there in tin note.
