    Replacing moisture

Thanks a lot. would you do the same thing if your tobacco is in a mason jar?

    Replacing moisture

Drying out tobacco that is too moist is simple. However, is reincorporating moisture into the tobacco just as easy? I left some of my PA out to dry for a bit because it was too moist for my liking but I left it out for entirely too long and it feels too dry now. I know that when I accidentally...

    What's the Difference?

The estates are handsome looking pipes and also seem to be made well. From what a few people have suggested to myself and a few other members as well is to find the blend I like before I buy a new pipe. Are there any samplers that are suggested to someone new?

    Ways to Light

The magnifying glass almost seems like too much effort, but seems unique enough to try at least once. Does anyone think the flavor would change since you are burning it without a flame?

    What's the Difference?

If it is does that mean that my pipe is starting to burn through the inner wall of the pipe? Also My store owner doesn't know much about pipes but he tried selling me some screens. I went ahead and bought some because of the price (or lack there of). What exactly are they supposed to do?

    What's the Difference?

I checked and it was a MM and for four dollars I refused to pass it up from all of the recommendations. I didn't see a point in waiting to break it in. The bowl got pretty warm. Warmer than my Grabows have ever gotten. What all could I be doing wrong? I smoked PA cherry vanilla that had been...

    Ways to Light

When I used the spill, I just didn't taste the butane that I would normally taste when I light my cigars with my lighter. It was just a slightly different lighting experience

    Ways to Light

I have tried the spills and it gives it a slightly different taste in the fist couple of draws but afterwards I tasted nothing but the cigar that I would have tasted not matter what I used to light it.

    Ways to Light

I actually would sometimes use a dual soft flame lighter for my cigars to get a nice even burn. I roll the cigar whilst holding the tip not in the flame but very close to it. This could be partially due to my slight pyromaniac tendencies. Do you know of the difference between cigar and kitchen...

    Ways to Light

There are so many possible sources of flames with which to light any sort of tobacco product: soft flame lighter, torch lighter, zippo, kitchen matches, book matches, cigar matches, car lighters, dual flame lighters, etc. I have tried just about every one of these with my cigars and different...

    What's the Difference?

I was wondering if that was the case. I was about to purchase a yello bole before I looked to see what they were made of. It said it was a blend of materials and I knew then that it wasn't what I was after if I were to be serious about this hobby. My problem was that I wanted one for all the...

    What's the Difference?

I will check when I go in tomorrow. I have made the decision to stay clear of brylon pipes due to the knowledge that its not actually wood. I am still curious as to why most will not suggest brylon.

    What's the Difference?

A lot of people are suggesting cob pipes but I have been skeptic of them since I was a Boy Scout. I have always thought that they were more of a novelty than a functional pipe. I'm not saying that I won't get one to try to prove myself wrong. However, another question to pose to accompany the...

    What's the Difference?

My original question did get answered then I asked more because of my intense curiosity for this hobby. Every question I have asked has gotten answered and for that I am thankful. I am glad to have several experienced smokers take a part in mentoring myself in this intriguing and delightful...

    What's the Difference?

With XL pipes, about how long of a smoke would it be? The duration of a smoke has never really been an issue considering I smoke Churchills and the longer cigars at my local shop.

    Tobacco Advise to a Newbie

I too am inexperienced with pipe tobacco and was smoking cigars for a while before making the delightful decision to add a pipe to my tobacco knowledge and hobby of smoking. So I dont mind a bite and also like a mild aromatic. Any suggestions?

    New Members, Introduce Yourself!

Thanks jeepnewbie, I could easily spend around $100 on a new pipe but I do like a bargain and hate paying full price if I can help it.

    What's the Difference?

My thanks go out to all of you who have given me advise. I have seen a peterson that i like the look and price of but unsure of the quality. It is an Irish estate pipe with an Army fitting I do believe. Anyone know anything about it or have any more personal suggestions...

    What's the Difference?

So, with that being said, would buying a Peterson or Savinelli be a safe bet for a better quality pipe? Or would you advise I stick with my Grabow until I learn more about this intriguing and enjoyable hobby?
