C&D Captain Bob’s Blend followed by Visions of Celephais. Both of these were on the chopping block but I wanted to give them one more chance. They didn’t make it, adios my weird little friends. They are both really different and interesting and I would actually recommend you try them based on their unique flavors.
I smoked them in a cob so instead of looking at an old vegetable, please consider this beauty that I do not own.View attachment 441763
Awesome post. I needed that humor today. TY

A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. M'lady and I fed all the cats. Looks like the rain has stopped. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

A very unusual VaPer ... a crazy idea?
Took a small handful (maybe about 4 pipes worth or so) out of my Odds & Ends jar, which began back in '06.
Lord only knows, of course, what's the composition - could even already have some type of VaPer in it & if so, probably some old McClelland St James Woods ... maybe, but would only be a few pinches.
Then added about 30% Sutliff TS-20 Louisiana Perique.
So, I have an "Odds & Ends VaPer". Credit goes to the Inveterate Tinkerer!
Will let this "stew" for a day or so, then plan to smoke it in both of my Missouri Prides.
Meanwhile, will have a "before bed" snack of Russian cheese on some dark Ukrainian bread, courtesy of the local Russian Market with a side of smoked herring.
NOTE: I don't see many here on the forum talk about their Odds & Ends jars, SB notwithstanding.

Would appreciate the name of this Russian market, for my next trip over to "West Germany." Good luck with your new blend - looking forward to hearing the report.

I have long considered doing this, but fear to do so lest I happen upon "The Lost Chord" or Dr. Jekyll formula that works magic but alas! proves unrepeatable.

Did a set of walking reps on this cold and very windy day, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in a slight bent black pattern etched 1977 Lorenzo Lorsan Sigma level top billiard with a gray swirl acrylic saddle stem. The wind nearly knocked me off my feet once, and when I would go downhill, it'd push me down the street. Near the end of my last lap, I saw Tomato the Brave running scared from something. He came up to me yipping and yipping. I couldn't see anything that would have scared him so, but he raced me to the back door, followed Daisy the Feral Princess, and both are eating now. Harry the Hairy stayed inside, and is snoozin' on the couch.

Heading back home to Tennessee in a short while, 3.5 hr.drive ahead of me.

In the meantime, strolling about the old home place on a gorgeous day. Checking on a portion of my youngest brother’s apiary… not much activity since temps are around 40F out here.

Smoking C&D Engine #382, yet again, but this time. In the ugly but incredibly great-smoking vintage Zulu house pipe from Mattox Pipe Shop in Eugene, Oregon that I mentioned in my previous post.

Putting this workhorse through its paces one more time before I hit the road.

Thanks to a recent cellar purchase, I've discovered St. James Flake.
And I like it.
And there's more jars of it in one of those boxes.
In a Peterson 2019 POTY I've just begun using.
Had to play around with the prep & pack because the chamber dimensions are unique to me; I think I got it now.
Yeah, it's a bit chilly outside.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star Hawaiian Kona Extra Fancy, neat, is my drink. Got three KBV blends today for review.
