Glad you kept the power. Nothing much worse than those type of extreme weather conditions coupled with a loss of power and no idea when it will come back on. When I was a kid, it made for a real adventure. Fortunately, we had a fire place and dad always kept plenty of wood cut so we stayed warm and cooked on the fireplace.More C&D Redburn, this time in a Peterson apple. Last night's mix of sleet and freezing rain has turned the driveway not so much into a skating rink but more of a luge course. We got lucky here; no power outages or falling limbs in our area. Not so much for those East of us.

But they are still good for keeping down the number of some yard pests like ticks, etc.Cake, coffee, burley, cob, and some chickens in the background.
Decided to get them when eggs were as expensive as beef. Now that egg prices have gone back down, I might break even in 6 years

I never know what day it was even before Christmas.Adrift in the "Daft Days" between Christmas Day and New Year, when those of us blessed with leisure are apt to forget what day it isA post-breakfast smoke of Rattray's Sterling Flake, in a Rattray's Old Perth cutty, with black coffee and a tot of Wood's "100" Navy rum. I'm finding the Sterling improves on acquaintance but still seems to me to lack the harmonious complexities of the Peterson's Irish Flake. What the two seem to have most in common is a similar proportion of Va/Ky mix.

Can confirm - warm enough I’m outside in shorts and t-shirt at the moment. Was going to fire up the solo stove but thought, what’s the point ?Glad you kept the power. Currently, in the south, it's still unseasonably warm.
Everyday is Saturday here since retirement.I never know what day it was even before Christmas.
