I read that about a year ago and enjoyed it very much. It's interesting to view things from their perspective in 1919.
I’m about halfway through. I mostly read the classics and stuff freely available on Project Gutenberg (I’m cheap). I am curious how I’ve never heard of this book before I got back into pipes. It’s an easy, fun read and one I’ll be recommending. And yes, the thoughts from 1919 after WW1 are indeed interesting. I’m not super schooled on early 20th century history.

Country Squire Parson's Blend in a T. Cristiano VSQ, and then again in a MO Meerschaum Boone. Very mild Burley-based aromatic. Enjoyed it. Sweet without being sticky, and it had a nutty and almost "cooked mushroom" note. Oak-y.I have a growing suspicion that I prefer Burleys to Virginias...

Pictured are pipes that were delivered today. Santa came late. :) Brigham Voyageur 136, Peterson 2025 Halloween System Standard 305 with P-lip, and Ismail Çelebi dragon egg meerschaum. (Ismail Çelebi is very nice, BTW.)

There's something about that Brigham that feels like an old friend already. It's a "woodsy" sort of pipe; very appropriate to the area in which I live.

Have been trying to hunt down a Brigham Voyageur 165, to no avail. The only one I found is in Canada, and it's only available for in-store purchase. It's the big bent "acorn" that looks like a pinecone. Maybe they'll make some more next year. :)

Finished "The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle" by Stuart Turton and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Very, very different sort of murder mystery; everything that takes place/has taken place is continually changing. I had no idea how it would end until it did. Bonus philosophical theme pertaining to redemption and forgiveness. Kept my brain interested and engaged.

Hope you all had a pleasant holiday, and are heading into a pleasant weekend.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm smoking well aged 4Noggins Bald Headed Teacher in a medium brown, smooth octagonal paneled bowl and shank, medium bend 2016 Tim West Book Keeper 6 with a black acrylic saddle stem. The shape was designed by my great friend, the late Art Arterburn, and gifted to me by him. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching a documentary about Cleopatra, and getting ready to clean a few pipes.

Beautiful pipes, all of them. Especially love the Çelebi "Raven" Claw.

About three quarters through some Old Joe Krantz in a Savinelli Camouflage Billiard. This is a big ol pipe and it likes to smoke Burley clean and dry. Put away the Christmas presents and I walked away with enough leftovers to last me the rest of the year. Not a bad haul. Hope everyone else had a good holiday and are enjoying any new presents, tobacco related or nah.
