Just Finished cleaning up this somewhat odd, but very well made pipe. The walls Are pretty thick, but it’s very light. there is no flaws in the briar that I can see. While I was working on this pipe a lot of gold buildup was accumulating on the sandpaper, I think it could be real gold, it’s a bit soft to be brass, also I never had that happen while sanding a pipe band before but i honestly don’t know. If I had to guess I’d say this pipe was made in France? The writing is deep Enough that you can clearly see it.. but is that an “m”? I think I see a “w” maybe a “e” or two? The gold band is thick and imbedded in the shank, has no marking that I could see. I has 242 on the other side of the shank but it probably a shape number.IMG_3282.jpegIMG_3283.jpegIMG_3284.jpegimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg
