Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Tomato the Brave came in to eat and as is his custom every time he sees me, he sticks his head up so I can give him a scratch. He ate well, came to thank me, and a few minutes later he went out. Harry the Hairy came in, and his back and tail were greasy. I guess he was under a car. M'lady cleaned him up, he ate and went out. Daisy the Feral Princess is lying on her blue blanket. Sleepy Suzy is by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's chair.

Now smoking the last of this jar of year 2016 pre-release WarHorse Ready Cut in an undated straight sandblasted black Ropp Crystal billiard with a clear acrylic perspex saddle stem. Luckily, I have more. Just enjoyed a little play time with Molly Danger. She didn't give me much choice after yelling at me loudly. She's happy now.

There are SO MANY english blends! Is there nothing else like it? What sets this one off for you?

And I have so many English blends. I smoke more English and Balkan than anything else. But I Really bonded with this medium body blend. The closest Ive ever found was that it is comparable to the middle ground between the old Dunhill “medium” and Dunhill “full” mixtures, but with a bit more oriental assertiveness. The tin aroma is heavenly to my nose; with notes of cinnamon, allspice and black tea. The virginias are a bit on the sweet side, but balance with the Latakia quite harmoniously.

I’m quite sure there s something comparable out there, I just haven’t found it yet, and I‘ve been through a lot of English blends over 30 years of smoking.

Sometimes, you just find those rare blends that hit all the high points for your own palate. Wessex Tradition is one of those for me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have gone to the trouble of purchasing every remaining tin my tobacconist had once I found that it had been discontinued (this was way back in the day when James B. Russell was handling its distribution).

It may indeed still be in production, but I haven’t see it offered in my neck of the woods since around 2008. And I haven’t seen it in any of the usual online retailers either. If anyone knows of its distribution stateside, or where I can get some more, please let me know.

Enjoyed a little low calorie snacking, and am smoking year 2013 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a 1982 smooth straight Dunhill Root Briar 31051 dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. One of these days, I'll open a mylar and pull out some of the plug version that Sutliff made. I was after them for years to make it, and when they did, they inexplicably didn't release it. I was lucky to find some in the reject vat, and I wish I could have gotten all of it.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am close to finishing this bowl of Wilke Surbrug’s Crystal Palace in a dark brown smooth straight post-WW2 LHS Certified Purex 79 bulldog with a nickel ferrule and tenon with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Been enjoying quiet reading time.

Part way through this bowl of year 2017 Esoterica Dorchester in a straight smooth dark brown octagonal paneled mid-60s-early 70s Corporate Era Barling 4945 London England T.V.F. billiard with a square shank and black tapered square stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. Daisy the Feral Princess woke up after a long snooze, came up to me, and laid down near my feet with a big meow. I got up to give her some wet food. I had to bring it to her because our resident feral princess expects compliant wait service. :)

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of year 2012 Virginia Spice in a 1979 brown grain etched Lane Era Charatan's Make medium bend calabash shape 483DC with a black vulcanite double comfort stem.

Currently, I'm half way through this bowl of year 2012 Virginia Spice in a 1979 brown grain etched Lane Era Charatan's Make medium bend calabash shape 483DC with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. I'll end the day with this smoke. Spent some time traffic copping feral feeding, and looking for a couple of things that took me a while to remember where I put them. Tomato the Brave is the only feral who is outside.
