Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and am smoking year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Gold Star 50th, neat, is my drink.

What a beautiful pipe! I'll be on the lookout for that shape and size, for sure. Beautiful wood (and lots of it!) smaller bowl, perfect matching mount . . . . . You sure can pick 'em, sir! You've nailed my taste on this one!
Thanks for the compliment. I asked Basil Meadows to make the tomato for me as a compliment the squashed tomato that I smoke EGR in. The woolly mammoth was his idea. The p-lip was my idea because I expected it to be a heavy pipe. I can clench it because of the p-lip.

Every time I asked Basil to make me a pipe, he somehow figured out a way to refuse payment. And every time he did that, I figured out a way to pay him. In this case, I had just finished reviewing and comparing Sutliff's Match blends to the originals. I gave him all my extras plus more, which came to about 150 blends. That year I worked the Sutliff table with their blender at the time, Carl McAllister. We were giving away free tins at the show. I gave Basil about a dozen, which I put in a box. When Basil was packing up at the end of the show, the box was behind him. He used his right hand to grab each tin without looking back. I started handing him some of the extra tins that we had left. After grabbing about fifteen of them, Basil realized something strange was going on. He turned around and saw me handing him the extra tins, and just exploded in laughter. I said "I think we're even now." His response is not safe for public consumption. rotf

GLP Silver Jubilee in a Savinelli 707.

This is my first bowl of this blend, and so far I’m enjoying it. I’m not usually a fan of too much dark-fired, but this blend doesn’t have too much. The earthy savoriness never gets in the way of the Virginias, and it’s much more nutty than smoky. I’m very happy I took a flyer on a couple of tins

.... I have been debating how to describe it. The bowl looks like a Dublin to me but the shank and stem say Lovat. ....

It's a beautiful specimen. How about Dublovàt? (Pronounced dub-luh-VAH) 😻 The shape actually has vague similarities to my Neerup (below).

I seem to be like a kid in a candy store lately . . . all that info in the Hacker and Dunhill boods have really opened my eyes. This pipe is elegance and simplicity rolled into one classic package - like Debussy's "Clair de Lune" played by a master . . . . beautiful!
That’s high praise indeed! It’s a great little billiard for a bargain price

Part way through this bowl of year 2012 Stonehaven in a straight black sandblasted 1957 Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver banded military mount and a black ebonite tapered stem. My favorite pipe. All three ferals came in the eat, but as long as Harry the Hairy is eating in the kitchen, the others are staying in the den.
