Ha ha! Maybe next year (or maybe this year)! I do love Penzance though. I didn’t start smoking pipes until after eso was long gone, so I look at it like this: I used to pay $25-30 for a quality cigar, and triple that for a Montecristo #2. Even at $100 an ounce, that comes out to ~$10 a bowl, give or take, or -3 bowls for what I used to pay for 1 quality Dominican or Honduran stick. Not an every day smoke, of course, but it’s only “outrageous” when you compare it with all the excellent readily available options that exist at a fraction of the cost (which I concede is a sticking point in the logic). But pipes and pipe tobacco aren’t about logic, right? They are a passion and sometimes passions need to be indulged, within reason, even if the logic doesn’t hold up.
