After looking for a time, I was finally able to pick up my first pipe by Paul Bonaquisti! I had the good fortune to meet him at his shop, Park Lane and after seeing some of his pipes around the internet, have really fallen in love with his work. I just picked up this awesome early stack and I couldn't be more thrilled. It doesn't look like he's making anymore so I would love to see if anyone else has work by Bonacquisti! Would love to pick up a few more by this maker along the way.

I bought a churchwarden from him 20 years ago (top pic with the ruler), that I modified some---shortened both the bowl and the peg---and made a shorter stem for about ten years ago (all other pics):

The Group 4 Dunhill Tanshell in the last shot is for scale.

Wonderful pipe. :)

Paul is a very talented pipe maker who was strongly influenced by the late John Eells. So for the most part his style is classically oriented. His construction is great and in my experience he's always uses good aged briar. I don't think he's making many pipes these days and intends to close his B&M, Park Lane Tobacconist, located in Clifton Park, NY. Some good stuff may still be available including tobaco blends he created which I think are well done.
