Ok fellas I finally found a Birthyear Dunhill that I liked enough to actually pull the trigger and buy it. Definitely the most memorable event for me so far as far as a pipe smoker. I’m extremely happy To have found this thread because it was a big help in learning and deciding what to look for and eventually buy. Thanks fellas. It’s not the best or most flawless out there but I do like it. UPS just dropped it off a few hours ago. I had my eye on a few others but they were either too small or not the right shape. Here she is in the MBSD website photos and a few other photos from home after opening it up. Haven’t smoked it yet but other than slight rim discoloration and the nomenclature being a little faded everything looks to be in excellent shape.

Congratulations to you, Adam. Beautiful looking pipe and seems to be in good condition. It is a special pleasure to get a birth year pipe, especially a Dunhill. Happy for you and enjoy smoking it.

Wish I had a birth year Dunhill, but I have no birth year pipes at all. However, a guy pulled up behind me at the gas station a couple weeks ago with a birth year Corvette - 1962, convertible, red - I'm afraid he caught me drooling. Just to rub it in, he told me it's for sale. I didn't even bother asking the price!

These are a 1983 (left) and a 1982 (right) that I got as birth years to represent my wife and I. The '83 is their Christmas pipe I picked up 2 years ago unsmoked. The '82 just came in yesterday. What made me purchase it is the fact that it's the same color, finish, stem, etc. to my '83 and really makes a nice complimentary pair from different years.

Gorgeous pipes, for sure.

One question..... Are you saying that your wife enjoys smoking the pipe, also, or is her birth year pipe just to commemorate said occurrence. Which, I might add, is a "brilliant" way to justify another pipe acquisition......

She does not smoke so the set is for me. That being said, "this is to commemorate your birth" was 100% said ha ha.
