Love this thread, my wife and I watch horror movies a lot, and I have a feeling the list you fine folks are currently assembling here will serve my spooky purposes well in the coming months.
Ohh god ,watched so many cheesy 70 and 80' horror movies love them .
I don't really have a favorite horror movie, there are a lot of great ones, but I love watching old B movies. There are many famous actors that appear in these movies before they were famous.
My iconic movie is The Shining. I identify strongly with the character. I even have a plastic axe, which my wife gave me as a gift. Another one that fascinates me, especially its main actor, I'm referring to Bruno Ganz. in Nosferatu.

I thought this was going to be about the wonders of fall, haha. I didn't even get into Halloween as a kid but one of our daughters is a Halloween junkie.
Never really been a fan of horror/scary movies in general but there are a few I've enjoyed. The Exorcist, Halloween, Creature From The Black Lagoon, Cult Of The Cobra, Something Wicked This Way Comes - those off the top of my head without thinking much about it. The Devil's Rejects is pretty entertaining but it's less horror than it is a postscript on House Of 1000 Corpses, and both reinforce my issues with clowns, lol. I'll watch the old Hammer films just because they are campy and entertaining but slasher films for the most part have always been a hard pass - a good vampire or werewolf themed film is fun (unfortunately there are a lot of them, not that many that are "good").
