I don’t have nearly the collection of valuable pipes that many on this forum have, but...

Considering I’m only 31, I’m sure my wife would be absolutely devastated if I passed anytime soon and would just want the pipes out of the house as quickly as possible, as the sight of them would tear her apart. She’d likely give them away or throw them in the bin. The total value of my pipes can’t exceed $1000 so I don’t care much about what she decides to do with them. It would hardly be worth the effort to resell them.

I had to face this question last summer after my wife passed away.
I had thought to outline what I wanted done with my possessions including the pipes and tobacco but my lawyer convinced me to just leave the final decisions to my executor as once I'm gone I will have no way of knowing if my wishes are carried out. (I'm not so rich that I need to specify who gets what.)

That being said, he did say I could write a letter stating what I would like to have done. Like all my camera equipment going to the daughter who has a degree in photography.
It also helps that both of my sons are pipe smokers and one of my grandsons is occasionally enjoying a pipe or cigar. (The other two oldest grandsons are also occasional cigar smokers.)

My "instructions" are that my two daughters, four granddaughters all be given the option to take a pipe as a keepsake if they want one. The rest of my pipes can then be divided between my two sons and five grandsons. I also have a document identifying each pipe and their value and which ones I have an emotional attachment to. (These are mainly pipes my wife bought me as gifts.)

My sons will divide any pipe tobacco I have left between them.

Am I the only one who is being buried with a pipe just in case heaven or hell ain't what its cracked up to be and I need a hobby.........
I'm being cremated but I have asked that a pipe, some pipe tobacco and a shot of rum be added to my urn.
More importantly, my two sons know I would like them to occasionally have a pipe when they visit my wife and I at the cemetery. I'm also not opposed to him pouring an occasional shot of rum on me either.

My pipe days are coming to a conclusion.
Though doctors have given me an expiration date, nothing so sinister.

You and I are both a hell of a lot closer to the end than the beginning. Knowing how close is both a comfort and, at times, a distraction. I find myself more often with a cigar in my mouth than a pipe lately. Tastes and desires change.
