Lately, I've lost my sense of satisfaction at the end of a pipe. I find myself relighting, wondering if it's done, then realizing there's nothing but ash left. Instead of feeling like I've had a nice, satisfying experience, I find myself saying, "Is that it?"

Do you do anything to increase your sense of satisfaction when you're done with a pipe?

I find satisfaction in having taken some time and enjoyed the bowl. When that isn't enough, I take a break for a few days/weeks. Sadly I haven't had a chance to sit and smoke for a couple years so we'll see how how it feels when I start again.
YEARS?!?!? Oh, my! What on Earth has been so harsh in your life that you haven’t had a single chance to smoke your pipe in YEARS? I shudder to imagine.

Usually it's time to do a little light snacking, for me.

This post makes it sound like end of bowl satisfaction once existed for you but no longer does.
What changed?

Do you need to explore new tobaccos?
Do you need a break from smoking?

Sounds like it's too common. Or at least that's my opinion. I slow down and make sure I mix it up enough that pipe smoking never feels common place to me. Familiar sure. But if I don't get that feeling through and through I know it's time to smoke something new for a while.
