Well, I'm back. Not to assume my absence was overly concerning to anyone who wasn't aware of my situation already.
First I'd like to dispel any rumors that I absconded to a secluded desert island with the contents of the box pass and forum members stemless pipes to smoke myself silly on Captain Black Grape, Clan, and Mixture 79 with a collection of Peterson stummels. I only smoked the Stonehaven and McClelland's.
Kidding of course, the last and future box pass contents are fully intact and untouched. And any forum members pipes are safe and sound either retuned to them or on the bench currently. I am now working my way through the backlog.
On to the reason for my departure, I came down with what is known in the medical community as "spontaneously sploding knee". According to the nice gentlemen in the big white box truck covered in flashing lights, who were kind enough to peel me off the pavement, give me those free drugs I heard so much about in the Dare program, and drop me at the nearest medical facility. My condition is was an all too common side effect of being smooshed between a 2000LB automobile and an 800LB motorscooter at speed.
I have for the most part fully recovered, or at least I've recovered as much as I ever will. I am upright, walking, and not bound to any mechanized apparatuses. I consider myself lucky, my situation could have been WAY worse.
Important lessons have been learned, baseball caps are not substitutes for helmets. People who are consumed by their cell phones while driving should be beaten on and about the head with a pillow case full of Nokia brick phones until such time as their retinas are detached.
