    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

Tobacco being as rare as hens teeth here, I'm delighted to have grossly overpaid in duty this morning to get my hands on two tins from customs. I can have two bowls each day this weekend!

    Tobacco Calculations

Even without different measures (oz's etc) I've regularly seen 25g, 40g, 50g and 100g packs. Which of these is considered the amount in a standard tin?

What Cigar Are You Smoking, 2020?

Took a trip to the airport (its basically been closed for 8 months) as they are selling off the duty free stock and picked up a box of davidoff signature 2000 for much cheapness 😁 Hadn't tried these before, very glad I bought 10

    Should've Just Bought Whale Vomit!

I'm from the UK, just working here Always knew I'd take up the pipe one day when I kicked the ciggies, just didn't think it would happen when I was in a county where its not sold, but there it is I guess, just have to suck it up No cigs for 18 months and even though I have a couple of dozen...

    Should've Just Bought Whale Vomit!

I had this box marked as gifts and it had other items in their too. Didn't make a difference. If they visit in person they can bring 5 tins/packs each with no issues, which has worked well for me in the past I guess i could order from a country with really cheap over the counter prices (i.e...

    Should've Just Bought Whale Vomit!

Hmm, good suggestion but the nearest place is Madagascar 🤔 I dunno about you but I saw a couple of animated documentaries about the place and it looks well creepy, with talking penguins and singing zebras etc. I think they're smoking something a bit stronger than Irish mix in their pipes...

    Should've Just Bought Whale Vomit!

Here's the kicker, 2 days previous I was able to pop into the airport's new duty free 'pop-up shop' they set up (currently selling off its stock before it gets out of date/season or whatever expiry) Since they've had no customer traffic for 9 months since borders closed I bought 500euro worth...

    Should've Just Bought Whale Vomit!

My Tale: Panic set in some weeks back as I realised that despite stricter and stricter rationing, what little tobacco I had left just wasn't going to last until the airport fully reopens on this tiny little tropical island and travel returns to something resembling normal allowing resupply via...

    My First Savinelli

Not sure if it applies to the OP (& I'm sure most of you know/don't care) but 6mm charcoal filters are also available instead of balsa for the 6mm Savinelli range with no adaptors etc

Filter ‘Rattle’ Repair? Rattray’s ‘The Bruce’

I was reading down to see if this was suggested although I'd tweak your thought and replace pipe cleaner with a sliver from a balsa filter, since they easily split apart just using your nail etc you can make it any thickness and its something that was designed to sit there anyway

    What's Good Comedy to You

I've lost count of the number of times I've watched every episode of Still Game First season had a bit more Scottish slang words in it but they 'toned' it down from season 2 onwards once it was clear it would reach a larger viewing market So many truly fantastic one-liners Don't forget to...

    Big Returns From Small Pipes

I've just received a small pocket Butz Choquin 102P that I've only had a couple of bowls from so far, 28mm bowl with 16mm bore so its the smallest pipe I have and the wall definitely gets 'warm' quickly if I smoke as I like to and I need to slow it down... but the payback is a lovely little...

    Recent TAD Pick-Ups

First tobacco I've had delivered since March (I was down to my last 50g so this literally triples my 'cellar') Will still have to ration my consumption but at least I can have a blow-out this weekend and have 3 bowls 😜

Opening The Draw On A Cigar

Can't believe i didn't think of this straightaway to sort my problem... 🤔

Opening The Draw On A Cigar

Sorry folks I'm sure this is an often repeated question but cant see one after a brief look I really like the Cuaba Tradicionales but often find the draw way too tight (esp in the first 3rd) Despite this I really enjoy the flavour and since they've been out of stock here since end of last...
