Not so Much a Review, as a Way of Things

Great story, it sounds like you’ve got a good thing going.

I know I Posted This Before - But Going On 7 Months Of Winter...

Finally!! A decent day today. I sat out on the tailgate of my truck and enjoyed a nice pipe this afternoon in the sunshine. This could be the one! The real Spring might be here!

Happy Thanksgiving to Our Canadian Members!

Happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks! Good food, good friends and actually taking a moment to appreciate the good things in life.

    First Pipe as a Dad

Congratulations! It will be the best of times and quite frankly you will have moments when it will be the worst of times. You will get through it. I have an 11 year old and a 1.5 year old. It has been tough going back through the early stages again but I still wouldn't trade it for anything. It...

Overview of Smoking Policies by Cruise Line

Our honeymoon was an Alaskan cruise a couple of years ago. The smoking room loved it when I came in as I was the only one on board who smoked a pipe. Good conversation but very little ventilation. I wished that I was allowed to smoke on my balcony, but that was a firm no-no.

Do You Still Have Your First Pipe?

I still have mine, a cheap Medico from a corner store. It still has the mark on it from my first attempt at smoking when it fell out of my mouth as I tried to clench it. I still make every other mistake at pipe smoking, but I haven't lost another pipe from the clench!

    L.A Incident

Yet another devastating blow. RIP to the victims and speedy recovery for the wounded. I've always been amazed at how destructive one person can be when they put their mind to it. Good luck to the first responders, I don't even want to imagine the scenes that they saw.

So I Got a Laser Engraver

I've played around with a laser engraver on leather. I know this doesn't help answer your question but they are a fun little machine once you figure them out. Do yourself a big favour and practice on similar shapes and grains of wood before you do your final product.

    First Snow Here in Alberta

We had more snow this morning, but the weekend temperatures are all much warmer. This is just a taste and enough to make the roads muddy. Snow means deer hunting and a deep freeze is on its way for ice fishing. Two of my favourite things to do! I'll take the cold over the heat any day.

    Evening Pipe

I could see using a live round if there was absolutely nothing else laying around, and I agree that the risk is slight, but I don't think I would risk ruining a perfectly peaceful pipe session with a loud pop and a burnt hand.

    Pipe Blisters

My Brigham bubbled near the rim. I was pretty disappointed as it was my first nice pipe, but the thought never occurred to me to try to return it. I figured that once it was in my mouth, it became my problem. As much as I don't like seeing it, it doesn't affect the function at all.

I Mean No Disrespect To Shrinks!

I've dealt with some good ones and some others that it baffles me as to why they chose that profession. There are some that care and put in the effort to help, and others that seem to stare at the clock and count the money in their head until the hour is up. A Xmas party wouldn't be my first...

What Does Santa Claus Really Smoke?

hmmmm, maybe my kids will have to leave out a loaded pipe with the cookies and rum and coke for santa this year. (my older kid knows that all the other kids leave him milk, so he will certainly remember the house that left him a nice rum and coke) I'll have to sort through the stash and see...

    Tobacco Pouches

I've been wanting to make a leather tobacco pouch but I am worried that the smell from the leather will impact the tobacco. Has anyone experienced this happening?

    Northern Pipe Smoking Blues

Yaddy, you and I must live fairly close together. This week has certainly been a pipeless week for me. I have a small heater in the garage but it still won't make it comfortable in these temperatures. No inside smoking for me.....yet.
