Beauty! Regarding cake build up: I try to build a HARD cake, which means after the pipe has cooled, I lightly wipe the inside of the bowl down with a q tip dipped in 99% iso to clean it up and get rid of the ash. It will take much longer to build the cake up this way, but imo the cake ends up...- Shore

I love AE, but like any natural, handmade product it can be inconsistent (even though only a single employee at C&D blends it now). If you suspect it is dryness interfering with the flavor, I would recommend (and usually do) put a 58% boveda pack in the tin or jar and leave it for a month then...- Shore
