The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

Yeah, I mean, when I got the pipes from the family I had zero reason to doubt them, but it's always nice to screen match. It's really the best way to ensure authenticity, but sometimes, especially in black and white films and lower resolution films, it's impossible. This latest match is...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

I was watching "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" in 4k UHD tonight again to see if I can get a better match to wood grain or markings. Please keep in mind it's very difficult to match the lighting, the exact angle it's being held at, etc., but I would say it's a 100% match in this with that...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

I would say I'm a non-smoker myself. I could see how people could enjoy the experience, I did enjoy the flavor and the smell, but me being someone so fearful of the potential health risks, it wouldn't be something I'd do more then once. I'm sure many would feel a thrill to smoke out of any of...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

He used the same Ropp La Montagnarde in both "Death Rides a Horse" and "The Magnificent Seven Ride!" Unlike the other film pipes I have, I have not been able to definitively match it to the screen. Interestingly enough, it is the only one the family had. It does appear that some components...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

I could only speculate with the answer of course. I believe Leone embraced him with using his pipes during filming. Since he was an avid smoker, the pipe added character and also, there probably wasn't a need for smoke breaks lol. He did have two meerschaums that he used. My best guess was...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

Yes, they were from his personal collection, and smoked in his daily life as well as in films. I have a few more film pipes, including both his pipes from "Mean Frank and Crazy Tony", a fun little mob film. One is a Sasieni, and one is a Savinelli. I will make posts about these at some point...

The Plymouth pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as "Angel Eyes"

It was Lees personal pipe that he brought on set and used in the film. In all his films he used ones from his personal collection.

The Vienna Meerschaum pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" as "Colonel Douglas Mortimer"

The vest, gunbelt and holster, boots, and the hat, yes. The poncho was made and designed by Carlo Simi, the costume designer. The image below shows Carlo's original production sketch design from "A Fistful of Dollars". Clint still has the poncho, as well as a few other components from the film.

The Vienna Meerschaum pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" as "Colonel Douglas Mortimer"

I do have a number of autographs and related items from the Dollars Trilogy. As far as big pieces go, I also do have Eli Wallach's sombrero from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" as well. As you may already know, any original props or production items are extremely scarce and rare. I'm happy...

The Vienna Meerschaum pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" as "Colonel Douglas Mortimer"

I don't have his cigarillos, but I do have his duster coat from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly". I bought it from PropStore last year.

The Vienna Meerschaum pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" as "Colonel Douglas Mortimer"

No, I completely understand what you mean. I just felt I should clarify that based on the response. I'm not trying to start trouble in any thread, nor was I responsible for the direction that other post took. I am moving forward, but I remember those who took things in the wrong direction...

The Vienna Meerschaum pipe used by Lee Van Cleef in "For A Few Dollars More" as "Colonel Douglas Mortimer"

I posted pictures of the pipes. That's good enough. I don't need to take a selfie of me with one, which is what he was asking. People are still trying to gauge if I'm a scammer or if I'm the person in my profile picture. I am not a scammer, it's me in my profile picture, and I have nothing...

It Appears Lee Van Cleef's Two Most Famous Pipes Have Been Acquired

But wait, photo or screen matching doesn't prove anything according to some of these people so🤷‍♂️ (Sarcasm)
