Very Little West Coast Pipe Community?
If you're in the Portland area and just looking for an indoor place to smoke your pipe, go to one of the McMenimans cigar lounges. There are three I can think of in the Portland area and one in Forest Grove. They're all cigar-friendly and I've had my pipe in a couple of them with no complaints...- seanavan

Ebay Listings & Fake Bidders!
I've called eBay before when someone seems to have a history of bidding things up and comes from the same town as the seller. eBay goes by the three strikes rule. I'm pretty sure the sellers got strikes against them and the bids by the other "bidder" in the seller's town were removed each time...- seanavan

Show Off Your J.M. Boswell Pipes Here!
I have a Grizzly and it's a single solid piece of briar as far as I can tell. Given the pictures they've had on their site over time and the size of the briar blocks, I'd be surprised if they glued two together since that might not be stable or safe for holding smoldering tobacco.- seanavan

Portland, OR Pipe Club
Just came across this thread. I'm in SW WA and am up for local pipe meet-ups or clubs. Would be nice to get together with other pipefolk over a pint on occasion rather than relaxing in my backyard/garage or having a pipe while taking the dog for a walk.- seanavan

Of the stores I've checked out up there, they had a good selection of pipes, an average selection of bulk tobaccos, and a good selection of tinned tobaccos. Cigar advice
This has been interesting to read. I've heard/read for years that 68-70% was ideal as well but have found that my cigars are usually to humid in that range and prone to splitting. I find 63-65% is a lot better as far as flavor and smokeability go. Interesting to read that so many others are of...- seanavan
