Looks an awful lot like a Stanwell but, the shape number (if that's what it is) #2277 doesn't fit a Stanwell shape. Found a few on eBay so your not the only one that has one but, they know less the you do. -

I think you should contact the seller/maker before you do anything. I know I would want to know if a pipe of mine had problems and would want to rectify it quickly. They may not even want you to send it back and just send you a another one. But, without letting them know you'll never know what...- rdpowell

What exactly do you think pipe makers do? I drill my stems with a 9/64" taper drill and my drafts are drilled at 9/64". I then cut the slot/ funnel by hand to 1" deep, sand and polish it, the funnel/slot. How much more can you do to the internals of a stem that will improve the smoke? I've never...- rdpowell

Well, I won't have to give up smoking a pipe because most my pipes smoke just fine. I haven't went and measured all the drafts in my pipes, Mastro De Paja's Rinaldo's Radice, etc. but, I would say 3mm is a bit small compared to what American pipe makers drill there's at, 5/32" and mine 9/64" and...- rdpowell

Looks like LAH, ya got me on that one sir. It seems to be dated 2013, there are so many new pipe makers out there I can't keep up with them all. Hopefully someone will recognize it. -

Personally I would not advise anyone to try and open up a draw on a stem of an expensive pipe. As for quality hand made pipes there shouldn't be a need to. Sadly out all the pipes I've ever owned I've never had a Ser Jacapo so I don't know how well or bad their stem work is. Just one thought...- rdpowell

Duration of a Bowl
My favorite pipe has a 7/8" chamber 1-1/2" deep and it never seems to be big enough but, that's because I'll smoke it awhile, maybe 5-10 minutes, set it down, do a little work on a stummel or stem, etc. then come back to it and smoke it for maybe 5 minutes, set it down and this goes on all day...- rdpowell

Where Do You Dump Your Ashes?
ASHES? we suppose to get ashes? I must be doing something wrong! Really though, I have an old tuna can in the shop they get dumped into and when cooled get dumped into the trash. Lets someone else have them, I'm done with'em.- rdpowell
