    Stealth Blends for Family Vacation

At first read I thought you were on the masochistic side when you toss in the mother into the soup. You may have an ulterior motive to be a nice guy before exiting stage left with a few more coins in your pocket when the smoke clears.

    Stealth Blends for Family Vacation

No one can see the camo crocks. I would wear black ankle socks to complete the ensomble.

    Chasing Grain

The grain that I like best is birdseye Seem harder to find than straight grain. Several in my collection have colored like a meer. Photo is what I refer to as quilted birdseye with cross grain on front of bowl.

    Rite Of Spring

Syrup time in N East USA and Canada. When the nights are freezing and day is above, the sap starts to flow in the sugar maple trees. Thoughts on Good Pipe Racks?

I never liked any rack maker product that insisted on storing pipes of different shapes bowl down. Antique chair side racks holding several pipes in my collection have larger holes and all my pipes are placed stem down. Maybe the stem down racks went out with the decline of clay pipes. Also...

    Preference: Rubbed or Doubled?

I am not flakey over flakes, even when cut into cubes they are hard to keep lit. When rubbed out I get more in my lap or on the floor. Will stick to wide ribbon cut. Folding an stuff of coin cuts has worked but must be dry.

    Yum Sweet Corn

Stopped at a local Amish farm stand piled high with first sweet corn of the season. The variety is know as butter and cream. Soon as I returned home it was shucked and lightly boiled. What a treat, super juicy and tender slathered with salted butter and devoured right from the cob. Life is good.

    Favorite Pipes to Collect

Years ago when I had more income concentrated on name brand with lots of grain. Now I smoke and collect what is known as sleepers of little known makers. The on line quality pipe sales have resulted in much higher prices from dealers. I now buy Calich, Trypis, Safferling, Kalnitz to name a few...

B&M Find: Radice Oil Cured & Twin Bore (info?)

My only comment is about the twin bore stem. The smoke is directed to both sides of the mouth. I don’t consider it a gimmic from a fine maker like Radice. The only drawback is only a narrow cleaner is required to keep an open airway.
