Mississippi River Tobacco...What Else?
You might try Hearth&Home Marquee El Nino. Like Mississippi River it's a blend of Virginia, perique, but instead of Latakia it has a dark fired Kentucky. I'm really liking this stuff.- peteross

New smoker having trouble tasting...
I can't add to what the other have suggested already but I wanted to mention how packing affected my taste over night. I was packing way too tight. Over time I learned that I like only a slight resistance on the draw. For me this allows for slower sipping.- peteross

A Cob Pipe... Really?
I've found a $4 MM cob to be a much better smoke than a basket briar at $25-$40 a pipe. If you're on a budget, not sure if you're ready to invest in the hobby, or need a cheepo for the shop, work, truck, or boat get the cob!- peteross
